Why I listen to NPR

An NPR listener by default

Well, the reason I listen to NPR is because Oldies Rock and Roll is no longer played on the radio. I don’t like Pandora because I’m not a computer listening fan. Also, Talk radio has no substance to it and I’m not a fat butt republican. So, what else is there to listen to?
Classical music just doesn’t have enough rhythm and a good back beat. Adult contemporary music is too synthetic and requires very little music talent. Country music is no longer country. It is techno-redneck-pop. Just listen to Taylor Swift. It’s more like Radio Disney.
I do like classic jazz from the fifties and sixties but is only played on NPR on the weekends. So, in the mean time I listen to Morning Edition and All things Considered on NPR. But only briefly each weekday. Just enough to get the real news without too much analysis. A little NPR will go a long way.
However, if the music mafia would release the copyrights on fifty and sixty year old rock and roll, then maybe Oldies could be played on IS radio once again. It’s the music police that keep Oldies from being aired on radio. Older music that costs just as much as the current new pop-rock-hip hop offerings. There are plenty of listeners that would like Oldies on the radio but small stations can’t afford it. Thus Talk Radio came into being such as it is. So, if you know any people in congress, tell them to repeal the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. I prefer to listen to my music on my pocket radio and FM stereo. Bring back oldies radio and send talk radio down the toilet. Thank you.
