Don't let your roadway hunger fool you

Don’t let your hungar trick you

It is amazing how desperate one gets when out on the road. Especially when it comes to eating. One has the tendency to make wrong choices.
This last road trip being no exception. Once we rode past Oklahoma City places to eat becomes fewer and fewer. Not until you get to Amarillo will prospects increase. Two hundred miles from OKC. However we stopped on the west side of Oklahoma City to buy some breakfast we could take with us. So, we stopped at a McDonalds. We haven’t eaten at a McDonalds in several years.
Well, the unexpected happened when I blindly ordered a breakfast item at the drive through. Hmm? How about this McGriller. Sour dough English muffin with egg and bacon. Sounds tasty enough. Right?
Well, you be the judge. The McGriller was neither sour dough nor English nor muffin. The so-called muffin had a taste and texture of a glazed donut without the glaze. At least 50-percent sugar. So sugary it killed the expected taste of the egg and bacon. I was thinking creamy, salt and peppery, and smoky. Something you would expect and want at breakfast. No. Not at all.
It was horrid at best. Something you would expect to buy at the state fair. Fried sugary glazed clop on a stick. Awful does not describe it. Repulsive is an understatement. Dreadful and horrific is the best way to describe the McDonald Mcgriller.
