A homecoming welcomed and past due

I don’t know about you but I am sickened to the depths of my heart about our war dead.  Just locally we have buried sever young men after being killed in Afghanistan.  Some who were well liked, valedictorians of their class, graduates of West Point, fathers of young children, and the list continues.  All dead.  War deaths early in life.  Why?

Mister President, please have mercy.  Bring home our troops.  Bring them home before they too come home in caskets.  Bring them home before they must be stitched back together.  Bring them home before they are rendered brain damaged or totally disabled.  All lives ruined.  Families devastated.  Mothers and fathers heart broken.  Spouses sent into instant poverty.  Children suddenly without a father or mother.

If you want terrorists to fight, there are plenty here in America.  Bin Laden is gone.  We have no business staying in Afghanistan.  Let the Taliban kill each other.  Just bring our boys and girls home now.  Today.  This instant.  Have a heart.  Bring them home where they belong.  Home safe.  Well and happy.
