It would be oh so cool to take politics out of jobs.

A pipeline cutting down across the prairie does not a job maker make. It cuts down through backyards, pastures, and farm fields. Always posing an environmental threat. Some of the worse kind of oil and clay slurry under extreme high pressure vulnerable to pipeline rupture. Possibly spilling thousands of gallons over environmentally sensitive ground. Easily finding it’s way down to drinking water beneath the surface. Only to make a big mess and contaminating water for drinking.

Pipelines only benefit the big oil companies and their shareholders. Any jobs created are short lived with no health benefits. This is not a job creator. Just a fleeting moment for the big oils. “Boys get it done and then get the heck out!”

If you wish to just create temporary jobs to stimulate the economy, build bridges. Build and repair roads, repair and build runways. Engineer and build high-speed rail. All of which benefit the general American population. Not shareholders.

Publics works is not job killers. But quite the opposite. It puts the unemployed back to work and greatly benefits the American economy. Not just self-absorbed oil execs and shareholders.
