I once thought there might be some redeeming qualities left in the Republican Party. But yesterday’s vote on the transportation bill and the budget clearly indicates the Republican Party is Anti-prosperity, anti-middle class, and anti-American. A group of partisan individuals still marching in lock step. Goose steppers. Lapdogs for the rich and mostly Fascist in their politics. Hitler would love these people.
All I can say the Republican leadership in congress is despicable and a disgrace to all America. John Boehner is a poster boy for a TEA party doormat. A wimp and a big lump of silly-putty. He is not a leader but a hire custodian for the rich and Big Oil. He is as unpatriotic as any elected member of congress can be. A man on the take. Vote for hire. “I’ll do anything for your big bucks.”
The enemy of the state these days are the Republicans. Doing whatever it takes to thwart the American people and its attempts to rise from its economic difficulties. And just think, for almost 40-years I was a registered Republican. A disgrace I wish to forget. Shame on the Republican leaders and its dishonorable actions against all Americans. There other things I wish to say about Republicans but my wife would send me out of the house. But anyway, you Republicans know how I feel about you. It is very very hot where I wish you to go. Sort of like “Global Warming” coming to get you.

The Republicans are about to step in to a Nine Field. Thanks to the Supremes.
Even before James Carville said it, I was thinking , it would be to the Democrats advantage if Obamacare were struck down by the Supreme Court. The Democrats could take this one to the bank in November. Blaming the Republicans for anti-health care. Plus energizing America Democrats to get out and get rid of the Republican congress and start afresh on an all new “Single pay” health plan.
Momentarily it might hurt Obama but in the long run striking down the current health care law might be a good thing. Helping the Democrats and giving the Republicans a big black eye. And more than likely, turnover congress to the Democrats favor. Giving President Obama a more workable usable “Do Something” congress. Passing laws that would advantage all of America. Not just the few one percent.
Aah, I can see the headlines coming this November, “America sweeps out the old bags of TEA.” Or, “Finally Health and Education for all.” Maybe a headline like this, “Made in America is coming back to America.” God bless America.

The Affordable Broccoli Act.
It was mentioned yesterday by some justices of the Supreme Court that if the Obamacare Affordable Health care Act remains in place, then the next thing that laws could require is for all Americans to buy broccoli. Broccoli? Or, possibly having to buy cell phones. Maybe even required to buy funeral and burial plans.
Now let’s get real. Notions tossed out only to distract from the seriousness of the Health Care Act. Trivializing the necessity of affordable health care. Certainly a political ploy by the conservative justices. And, these grown men with their teenage notions are our finest and best jurors? Aren’t we lucky?
Where do they get these ideas? I propose that these conservative justices have been listening to too much talk radio or watching Fox News. Perhaps a bit bias. Maybe spending too much time living away from the real world you and I live in. Possibly wining and dining with the social elite up in the Trump towers. A place where logic and rationale seldom visits.
It would be one thing to repeal the Act and start all over again with a single pay system. But the true notion of the court deciding the health care bill is solid gold partisanism at its worst. An obvious attempt to thwart the president and government sponsored health care and bring the president’s reelection numbers down. Please note the timing. An election year? I wish it weren’t true but it is. Political, partisan, and counterproductive for all Americans.
If it ever gets to the point where buying broccoli comes before the Supreme Court then that would be the time to burn down the halls of justice. Wipe it out. Start all over again. But, I seriously doubt the issue of buying broccoli could ever be brought before the Supreme Court. Could it?

North America? Or, North Korea?
Here is what America will look like after the Republicans take over government. The military will be tripled in size. After repealing Obamacare Medicare will be completely eliminated. Social Security will be phased in to a tricky 401K with the account holder at total risk. Retired seniors will be conscripted into a “Poor Farm” commune. Public employees will be arrested if caught trying to organize collective bargaining. Public projects will be scuttled and any attempt to rebuild America’s infrastructure will be cancelled. The only exception on public projects will be constructing oil pipelines, oil rigs, and de-constructing of any alternative energy sources. Solar panels, wind turbines, electric cars or trucks will be crushed and used as scrap. Oil coal and gas will be our only resource. Drinking water will be at major risk because of the energy extraction methods. Fracking, mountain topping, and oil and chemical spillage. All limiting where Americans can live and survive. Many will die as a result of reckless energy extraction.
But first, to imagine what it will be like when Republicans take charge, just walk to the southern border of the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. Take a strong pair of binoculars and look north. Looking north in to North Korea you will see a country of austerity and hopelessness. A country under arrest by its vast military. A country that sends most food and health resources to its central government and large military. A bleak picture at best.
Meanwhile back in America after the Republicans take over, unemployment will be at an all time high. Public welfare will be nonexistent. Many will die dot to hunger and homelessness. Medical care will be only for the rich. Public education will quickly go away. Employment opportunity will be greatly diminished. Only the rich, strong, and Republican will survive. Ending up in a Fascist military state.
However, all this will not happen. Mainly because the irresponsible Republicans will not take over government. Mit Romney will suffer a major defeat in November. The house and Senate will balance to with more democrats and independents elected into congress. Leaving a more balanced and fair government. God Bless America.

One or the other. Will it be politics or religion?
Evangelicals seek social change By Tom Krattenmaker Judging from the Republican presidential race and news media story lines, it's the same old, same old in 2012: GOP candidates courting the evangelicals. Analysts offering their latest conjecture about whether "the evangelical vote" will swing to Candidate X or Y. Evangelical kingmakers gathering on a ranch in Texas to anoint the official evangelical choice to defeat the despised Democrat. But not far below the surface, change is afoot in the ranks of a once-reliable GOP voting bloc and around that term, "evangelical. As has been widely reported, more evangelicals are breaking formation and tackling social problems such as poverty and human trafficking that weren't on the evangelical political agenda a decade or two ago. Even more seismic, though, is a challenge being mounted against the notion that electoral politics is the way to do God's work in America's public life. In a refreshing departure from the culture war mind-set that has come to characterize this and other recent elections, some of evangelicalism's leading thinkers and spokespeople are trumpeting an important insight: Christians too fixated on politics are bound to end up frustrated and tarnished. And politics is not the only way to create positive change. Politics played like sports It's good to find so many Americans interested in elections. But while following the big contests of recent years -- the bruising rhetoric, the breathless 24/7 news media and Internet coverage, the "just win" mentality -- one gets the sense that it's often not the right kind of interest. Many of us seem to engage in politics the same way we follow sports: What strategy will it take for my team to stick it to the opponent on Sunday? Who's moving up and who's moving down in the playoff race? Who's dissing whom on Twitter? Seeing many of Christianity's most ardent and visible followers caught up in the mean-spirited, truth-demolishing aspects of this is one of the more discomforting features of today's politics. What a relief it is to see a growing community of evangelical thinkers and leaders restoring sanity and taking corrective action to free their faith from politics' damaging grip. Consider Jonathan Merritt. A one-time GOP precinct leader and the son of a Baptist pastor from Georgia, Merritt, 29, has become one of the most persuasive articulators and exemplars of a revised form of evangelical engagement with politics. Despite the impression one gets from the political rhetoric of late -- a "war" on Christians, a "war" on women, a "war" on contraception (and a "war," evidently, on measured language) -- Merritt is convinced that the culture wars' days are numbered. Merritt, author of the forthcoming book A Faith of Our Own: Following Jesus beyond the Culture Wars, put it this way in an e-mail exchange with me: "Americans are tired of the incivility and the partisan divisiveness on both sides. Regardless of how much longer the culture wars are going to continue, Christians need to transcend the polemical, partisan, power-hungry battles that stymie the common good. If my intuition is wrong and the culture wars continue to rage on, my hope and prayer is that Christians will take a higher road as they seek to be faithful in the public square. A new kind of thinking When it comes to evangelical engagement with politics, Merritt's prescribed stance might be described as one foot in, one foot out. Politics is a responsibility of all citizens and too important to leave alone, argues Merritt, now an independent. Yet he calls on his fellow Jesus followers to stay out of the ideological trenches and avoid being reduced to partisan hacks. Christians cannot join the ranks of the politically apathetic," he says. But we aren't forced to choose a human-formed party with a systemized divide-and-conquer agenda, either. We can stand in the gap and claim loyalty only to Jesus. Leave it to the Christian in his 20s to capture something all of us would do well to realize -- young, old, religious, agnostic, conservative, or liberal. As recently conceded by Louise Trubek, a fighter for women's reproductive rights, "Maybe it is time to recognize that law alone is not enough to effect social change. Indeed it is time, just as it's time to recognize that politics alone are unlikely to forge the positive social transformation that political actors claim to want. Political victories often prove temporary at best. Any sugar high we get from "our side" winning ought to be tempered by the sure knowledge that a galvanized opposition is mobilizing for the counterpunch even as we celebrate. Unless elections and laws are reflective of deeper social change, they are built on foundations of sand, likely to be washed away by the next shift in the fickle tides of public opinion. Better to expend energy moving hearts and changing minds than plotting tactics for short-term wins. Merritt is right. It's not all about politics. And "the gap" is a great place for sincere Christians to stand, as well as common-good advocates of any (or no) religious persuasion. Not that you'll see much evidence of it in the latest news from the campaign trail, but there seems to be more of a crowd forming in that gap that Merritt describes. May it grow. Tom Krattenmaker is a Portland-based writer specializing in religion in public life and a member of USA TODAY's Board of Contributors. He is finishing a book on the emerging new faces of evangelicalism in politics and culture.

What a sad ending
Spiraling down in a blaze of disgrace. And just think, I use to be a Republican. What happened? Why is the Republican Party crashing and burning? It seems only lies and more lies are their only hope to defeat President Obama. Where are their morals? Where are their ethics? What happened to fair play? What happened to respect and honor? What happened to the Golden Rule?

Technology never ever stops.
My favorite object to besmirch and direct my anger towards is the ever present in my face mobile phones. Yes, cellular phones. The go everywhere wireless device one carries in his Adidas Polo shirt pocket or her Prada leather purse. Mobile phone used for the spoken and texted word. Plus the same mobile device having every onboard multimedia video, game, and exotic downloaded App gadget to play with and waste one’s valuable time. Just a pocket full of “Wireless” miracles.
I too recently had relented to peer pressure and took possession of a so-called “smart phone.” And you must understand, most of my peers are either dead or in nursing homes. So, what real credibility do they actually have. Maybe none.
But anyway, to be specific, I bought an iPhone. A small package of bewilderment and puzzlement. A mobile device intended to frustrate and raise the blood pressure of the Pre-Boomer user. Giving good reason for heavy drinking or long cold showers.
Never the less, what has seriously seldom been addressed by the wireless pinheads in the mobile phone world is the lack of sound quality in the sound transmission. However, the way I perceive and hear this, mobile audio still is lacking in reasonable and realistic sound functionality and audio quality. Certainly not equal to the old “landlines.” A gold standard for sure. But, I am guessing, the cell phone world’s vast numbers of units and infinite quantity makes up the difference for quality. Right?
However, we still have an expensive piece of metal and glass that looks pretty, has a nice mp3 player, has reasonable video, but is cloudy and wishy-washy in its audio department. Voices on the other end sounding like they are talking under water. Sounding like maybe speaking through a rubber snorkel. And, I’m certain, most people seldom talk under water. It’s the cell phone technology that is missing or incomplete. Still in the concept stage. And, perhaps not enough cellular towers and usually because of a lack of church spires or water towers.
Today, the best sound quality most mobiles can possibly produce sounds like Pre-Alexander Graham Bell. Certainly equal to that of telephone landline transmission going back some 80-years previous. Acting like voices delivered by sagging phone line traveling over leaning phone poles. Poles Chris crossing the weathered outback of 1920s America. Finally, mobiles sounding like Edward R Murrow reporting by trans-ocean cable from London during World War II. Sound phasing in and out. Sometimes dropping the whole connection. Pop! Gone. End Call!
“You’re fading on me!”
“Go over next to the window and put your cell against the glass.”
“Take three steps backwards and face the other way.”
“Stop your car on an overpass and get out.”
“You sound like you are in a wind tunnel filled with bats.”
“Go back where you were standing before and squat down.”
“Are you at a teen club with monkeys?”
“Get out and stand on the roof of your car.”
“Take two steps to the right and tilt your head to the left.”
You’re gone. I’ve lost you for sure. Fade to black.”

Simple economics. You've got money? You got oil.
It is basic economics 101. The simple theory of supply and demand and this case the supply goes to the highest bidder. And the highest bidder in this basic case study is, China.
Obviously China is willing to pay a higher price for oil than we are. Oil that is sold on the world market and sold by market speculators buying and selling oil on the Global commodity market. Speculators who are completely indifferent to whoever is the buyer bidder or who is the lower bidder. And we are talking about oil no matter where it comes from. From a rig in Oklahoma, from an ocean rig in the gulf, or down from a pipeline from Canada. Even pipelines undulating down through the hinterlands of Alaska. All go to the world market. It’s like having a world market auctioneer right at the oil head site. Dribbling, babbling bids and selling to the highest bidder.
So, if you want oil and especially domestic oil to stay in America, you have to be the highest bidder. Which often means higher gasoline prices. The person with the top price takes the oil. America has to pay higher prices than China. Higher than India. Higher than Japan and on and on.
Do you see the principle here? You’ve got money? You’ve got oil. No matter where it comes from. Comprender senor?
How we get oil and how much it costs per gallon has nothing to do with where we get oil. It has nothing to do with President Obama. It has nothing to do with Drill baby Drill. It’s all in the world economics. Highest bidder gets the kitty. Takes the whole pot. Wins the first place prize. Winner takes all. Simple, basic, freshman level economics. End of lecture.

Making up your own rules is not the "Golden Rule."
I am really bothered by all these Republican presidential candidates. Candidates using religion to control and constrict the voting electorate. Like making up their own rules in order to define the presidential race. Rules that always define and vilify the Democrat opponent. Rules that conform to their own likes and dislikes. More like doctrinaire formulated for a sure win for “our side.” Sort of like making up your own rules before a football game. Rules which would always come down in your favor. “Only I get the ball and you guys must stand aside when I run.” Defense is strictly prohibited.”
But as it turns out, they make up rules that are not in the Bible. Rules most likely found in the Republican policy handbook. Ignoring true Biblical principles. Principles like Love, Peace, and Joy. Christian or moral concepts like patience, forgiveness, humility, and the list goes on that is overlooked by the moralizing rregressives. Totally ignored by the Republican candidates. Doing good works are completely dismissed by the Republicans.
Good works like take care of the sick, feed the poor, provide for widows and the homeless, and other Biblical principles and responsibilities. Possibly providing health care for the infirm. Providing means for the disabled. And maybe providing jobs for those out of work.
Good things can happen only if the moralizing pontificating Republicans really practice the “Golden Rule.” Do unto others as you wish them to do for you.” I know it can work. Millions of practicing believers do this every day without notice and recognition.
It would almost be better if we elected an Atheist. He or she might extend greater empathy for the needs of Americans. But if you really want a Christian or a Mormon or a Catholic to be president. Then find one that really believes in his or her basic religious teachings. Not one who is just self-serving and a hired advocate for corporate and financial interests. God forbid.

Education is key in education. Education is our freedom.
So then, what is religion for? To constrict, control, or manipulate? I don’t think so. It’s to release us from a shackled bondage. Religion is suppose to free us from the law enforcing zealot and misguided politician.
Now, below I found something that might help us understand religion. Please read and think about it.
Seek the truth and the truth will set you free
“Seek the truth and the truth will set you free. Peace is the way. Love is the answer. Harmony is the result. The purpose of education, whether religious or secular, is to help a person function effectively in society. War is not effective either for the individual or society.
All true religions teach peace. The Golden Rule is a peaceful principle because it produces equity. We should share our wealth with our brothers and sisters because we are all part of the same human family. All teachings which divide us are false and all prophets who preach such division are false prophets…”

Humiliation might be better than prison. Correct?
So the ex-governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich is now locked up in prison. Somewhere in Colorado. In for a 14-year sentence. Certainly serving time for a crime against the state and federal government.
I, along with thousands more think he’s a big jerk if not stupid. His hair alone is reason enough to stay far away from him. Certainly Rod Blagojevich is deserving of punishment but is this the best way to “correct” law disobeying people? Is this the best use of federal tax money? Lock-em up Joe and toss away the key! A costly judgment for the taxpaying people.
Now, consider this: First of all Rod Blagojevich was impeached from his governorship. A harsh reality if there ever was one. Second of all he has been drained of all funds just in legal fees. Third he and his family has been thoroughly humiliated in the eyes of all Illinoisans.
None the less, would not it been better to put a GPS ankle bracelet on his leg, send him home to his family, require he only leave the house for the necessity of work, and require he pay back his debt to society with a heavy fine. He was a nonviolent offender. He should be allowed to work and support his family. Yes, his actions were stupid and illegal but he does not deserve to be incarcerated for a nonviolent offence. Living a nonproductive existence. He should only be barred from practicing law, never return to politics, and stay away from hair stylists. Just work and pay back his horrific debt. Even if he has to shine shoes at the airport for a living.
The only one deserving of prison is, O. J.

Stand up girl! Let's hear your voice.
It is disturbing to me to see that women health rights are berated and discounted in the Republican Party. The mainstream Republican leadership not only ignores the rights of their own women but deny any medical rights to all American women. Pretty much like the Taliban in Afghanistan.
I personally would like to hear more from women. Women in America need a louder voice. They need more representation in congress and in state legislatures. States need more women governors and attorneys General. More women in city and county governments. After all, women make up about 51 or 52-percent of the national population. But only have a ten or fifteen percent representation. Why?
Women! Where are you? Speak up! Shout! Start pushing and shoving. Get in the fight. Take off the gloves. Scratch. Pull hair. Kick’em in the groin. Make your presents known.
Failure for women to get involved will only result in less and less attention to women’s medical needs and rights. Go gettem girl! Smash the glass ceiling. Break down the sexist barriers. Make men pay you respect. Scream! Fight! Take your share of the civil and human rights.
Parents, it’s time to teach your girls independence, self-respect, and a greater self-worth. Give them the emotional and moral tools to make it on their own. Of course, this is done by respecting their gender and stop “girlyizing” them. Treat them to be adults, not love objects or possessions.
Dads! Treat your girls as you treat your sons. Show them how to be tough. Life is not easy. Also dads, teach your sons to respect women. Keep your sons busy and their minds off sex. Yes, it can be done. Moms, teach your girl children to say NO! No sex until the right time.
Women stand up! Unite. Collect your voices and shout, “I Am Somebody!” Get out there and shove and make your way in the sexist world. You are woman. Hear your roar!
Most of all men need to stop making laws and policy for women. Let women do that. Women! It’s your turn to make policy and laws. Go gettem girl!

If you see the good senator, take the kids in the house.
You might have missed Senator Jim Inhofe interview on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show. But if you didn’t, you saw and heard a grown man babble and spit all over himself. And what he said was not understood by many. Mostly because he just babbles. His thoughts, if you want to call it, were all over the political map. Disjointed and confusing.
The senator is a classic case of bloviation gone amuck. A mental meltdown. Foolish talk that begets gibberish. Nonsense personified by a million times. A man terminally morphed into a mental pigmy. And I predict, his brains will be given its last rites way before the senator’s bodily demise.
I really don’t know what he was talking about. Ms Maddow was talking about the senator’s recent published book, “The Greatest Hoax.” A book supposedly refuting Global Warming. A book using fuzzy and nebulous data. Data that was compounded by Sen. Inhofe’s irrational and blustering persona. Wackiness gone berserk. Nothing he said made sense. Blab la bla and bla. And this is the guy that represents Oklahoma in the US senate. How pathetic.

Come on Prez. Can we not go home now?
Dear President Obama,
I voted for you in 2010 and plan to vote for you in November. I am admirer of you and your lovely family. But, it is time for the harsh and hard truth. We have over stayed our visit in Afghanistan. It’s time to leave. Pack up the troops and get out. I need not tell you why. You know the reasons.
None the less, most Americans are weary of reading and hearing, on a daily basis, about troop casualties. Too many needless deaths. And I mean needless because of a now pointless war. A war with no end in sight.
You know as well as most Americans, whenever our troops pull out a bloody civil war will erupt in Afghanistan. If it hasn’t already. Civil war will inevitably occur if we leave now or twenty years from now.
A relentless war mostly started by our intrusion back in the Bush administration. We blew up back then what there was and at that point we should have left. So we have stayed too long. We have been beating a dead horse. Just making things worse.
So, it’s time to exit. Pull up stakes and move the guys and gals back home. Home where they belong. No more daily lists of troop casualties. No more flag draped coffins. No more sounding of Taps. Just troops back home safe and with their families.
When will we ever learn war, as we know it, doesn’t really work? America is not the World’s police. We should be the World’s teachers and nurses. And, most of all the World’s friendly Farmer. Let’s export corn and potatoes. Not killer bombs.

It's in all the headlines!
With the NASDAQ and the Dow trading at an all time high, Wall Street couldn’t be happier. Retail sales are climbing. Car sales are going up and especially fuel efficient cars. Employment is going up while unemployment is going down. Companies looking for good skilled workers. Technology is on the rise. Especially alternative energy technology. Sales tax revenue increasing for many cities. Natural gas production up and prices going down. Job prospects for college graduate are looking better. Over all, lots of good news for the American economy. All in spite of rising oil prices. And all without the aid of a Canadian oil pipeline.
However, and I guess left in the lurch, are Mit Romney and Newt Gingrich. Both gentlemen are under the impression the economy is getting worse. And blaming Obama for the state of the American economy. Hmm? Well, I should hope so. He’s done a pretty good job.
Haven’t these Republican candidate guys heard the good news? Are Mit and Newt living in a cave near Death Valley? Out of touch? Have they lost their cable subscription? Are they not reading the daily newspapers? Or, are they just clueless? Ill informed? Somebody, please help these guys get up to speed on current events.
And these guys want to be President? President of what? Afghanistan? Iran? Cat Man Doo? Holy Moly!

Both sides now.
I consider myself a moderate. Taking the middle path. Looking at both sides of an issue is what I attempt to do. I am fair. I am balanced. I let each side give its case. Just blind justice at work. That’s me. A diehard moderate. “Stuck in the middle with you.”
So, I step back and allow both sides to demonstrate their respective arguments. So what is the upside and downside to each position? But in the final analysis I must make a decision. So having to make my choice, one side wins and one side loses. Finally, don’t blame me. I am just exercising common sense and logic. I am the rational voice. Mr. in between.
However, there are those who call my decision formula, bias. Favoring the opposition. Well, if that’s the way you think, then call me bias. Even though it was an honest attempt to make a rational decision. A decision based on what I and sometimes others think is right and fair.
So in the end, I come down in the middle. I am neither a vegetarian or a carnivore. I love my broccoli with pork roast. Veggie spaghetti sauce? Meat spaghetti sauce? I love them both. Red bell pepper or a Twinkie. Both seem fine to me.
I know it is better for one’s health to be a 100-percent vegetarian but look at all the great flavors one could be mission. If only there was a veggie stir fry that tasted like smoked beef ribs. Or, only if there was a triple bypass double cheese burger that had calorie and fat count that of steamed broccoli. Well, it doesn’t hurt to engage in wishful thinking. Does it?? But anyway, just eat everything in moderation. Count calories. A little of this. And a little of that. It’s only fair and balanced. Bon Apatite!
Now, where is my double cheese veggie burger??

The Republicans have a great labeling department.
While the junior grade presidential candidates are all bloviating saying how evil President Obama is, the president is getting things done in spite of a do-nothing-congress. Amidst all the hullabaloo of the primary elections President Obama is at work and on the job. And if he’s not in the Oval Office, the office goes with him.
But anyway, while the President is writing and proposing honest policy, the junior presidential want-a-be’s are hard at work trying to redefine who President Obama is. Or, at least who they wish him to be. Republicans wish the president to be a failure. Failure? Even though he is not what they wish him to be. Never mind who the Republican leadership is and the candidates are. Reprobates and prevaricators.
None the less, if you can’t come up with reasonable policies or legislation for America, then slam your opponent. Make him or her look bad. A good lie or two helps. I am ashamed to admit it but the Republicans are only good at one thing. Labeling others and distorting the truth. More like ignoring the truth and slandering whomever they revile. They even disparage and pound each other. Mit loves to hammer Newt. Just watch and listen.
But the bottom line for Republican Presidential hopefuls is, they have no promises nor are they willing to make promises. I take that back. They promise to undo everything President Obama work hard for. No willing intent for the greater good. Just buyer beware and the banks and insurance companies want your money. And will be aided by congressional deregulation and fuzzy legislation
Now ask yourself this. Better yet, ask a Republican. Were Republicans the ones who came up with Health care reform? No. Was it Republicans that came up with consumer protection and banking regulation? No. Was it Republicans that brought back the automobile industry from disaster? No. Did congressional Republicans try to protect your drinking water and air quality? No. Was it Republicans who tried to protect all American’s civil rights and human equality? No. Was it Republicans who tried to promote quality education? No. Was it Republicans who want all Americans to earn at least a livable minimum wage? No. Is it the Republicans leadership that support public workers? No.
The Republicans hate public schools. They hate public school teachers. Republicans despise policemen and their unions. Also dislike firemen and their collective bargaining. And the same goes for nurses, social workers, school councilors, the board of education and on and on.
So, if you talk to a man or woman running for public office and they plan to get rid of Obamacare, ask him or her with what will they replace Obamacare with. How will they make health care affordable? What will they do with the millions of families without health care. What will they plan to do to develop alternative energy? How will they bring down the cost of gasoline. With what will they replace coal fire power plants with. Natural gas? Nuclear? Wind, solar, bio fuels or what?
What will happen is, you will see that silly Republican smirk along with a look of “are you kidding me?” Republicans don’t do that kind of stuff. We have no social policies. No reforming legislation. Just criticism for the President. They hate the President. Republicans think Obama is a failure and America is going to hell in a hand basket along with him. Oh, sure. Just look around.
Therefore, all the Republicans wants, is the President’s job. Nothing else. No progressive policies or helpful legislation for America. No health care. No clean air. No jobs. Temporary work on a pipeline is not a job or career.
The only thing the Republicans can say about the office of the president, “Just give me the Whitehouse. I certainly deserve it.” After all, I’m a Republican. Oh? Really?

When will they ever get it? Are they clueless? Where is the sensibility and common sense. Gone? Long time passing? Long long ago?
Surely the Republican voters have more good judgment than has been displayed in the past few months of Republican state primaries and caucuses. It is so obvious to the rest of the world that these four Looney-Toon Republican candidates are not Presidential material. Not even janitorial material. They are junior high sniveling twits. Just squirrel bate. Dog kibble or cat litter.
There must be some hope somewhere. Surely a Lincoln or Eisenhower will come out of the woodwork. Hopefully soon. Even a Gerald Ford would be acceptable. Anybody. Anyone with a willingness to work with both political parties. Someone who assumes the blame now and then. Not always blaming others. You know. “The buck stops here.”
But who? Someone who is an all around good guy or gal. Yes, a gal. It just might be the right time for a Woman President. Perhaps Olympia Snow. Yeah, go for it!

How to resolve the question of Health care.
So after we repeal Obamacare, here’s what we should do. Have all churches in America pay for health care for those that can’t afford normal health care. Pretty good idea huh?
Since almost all churches are tax exempt they should be willing to contribute at least a minimum of 10-percent of all their annual received cash contributions. Sending that ten percent to a national health care pool run by a national church organization. A pool paying at least 80-percent of health care costs for all Americans who cannot afford health care. Taking a huge burden off emergency room medical care. Plus keeping health care cost down for those who can afford regular insured care.
What do you think? How do we get this started. I know all churches will trip all over themselves to get this going. Right? Cool idea? Can’t wait to see this happen. god Bless America and our benevolent American churches.

When in the event of a disaster, don't call Ron Paul.
Ron Paul, current presidential candidate, said “victims of the recent Kentucky and Indiana tornados should fend for themselves.” Which means, according to Paul, there should not be any federal assistance or aid. So, this is Libertarianism. Right?
Then to add insult to injury, the esteemed satellite pastor Rt Rev Pat Robertson said, It’s the Indiana and Kentucky tornado victims fault for building homes in the path of the tornados.” Look it up yourself. I kid you not. These guys said this. Is this what Brotherly love suppose to be? I hope not.
Of course FEMA is the whipping boy as far as Ron Paul is concerned. Federal government should not be in the business of giving aid and handouts. Perhaps Robertson feels the same. Both at one time or another were Presidential Candidates. Paul still is. Oh please, forbid!
So, who is to come to the aid of disaster victims? David Letterman? A wealthy former resident of Indiana? Perhaps all the churches in Kentucky could help. Not likely. Some would. Most wouldn’t. Too big of a task. So, who is to do the heavy lifting? The only known entity is the federal government. Contrary to what Ron Paul thinks.
Yes, FEMA does provide financial aid and low interest loans but they also provide coordination of incoming donations as well provide emergency teams and equipment. No need to fumble around and hope something good happens. Emergency and rescue teams are already trained and ready to go. God bless FEMA and the Federal Government.

You guys! It's time to turn the page.
Okay, it’s time to stop milking this cow. And I’m talking about all the liberal talkers and their fixation on Rush. Enough is enough. Let’s move on to real issues.
Without a doubt I am no fan of Rush Limbaugh. I think he is a babbling jerk and deserves to go off the air but, it’s time for all liberal media types to find other fish to fry. Public safety, education, health care, ugly oily polluting pipelines, environment, alternative energy, air and water pollution, etc. Find a worthy subject and go with it.
Now you guys, go back to issues you ably champion. None the less, it is still amusing to me and many others how the Republicans can’t seem to come up with a viable Presidential candidate. It’s like almost everything blows up in their collective faces. If the Republicans would just back off their narrow demagogic demands, then perhaps a worthy candidate might come forward. And contrary to their beliefs, a moderate with his or her own set of conservative beliefs would pose more of a threat to Obama in November. More so than the current Nut Cases running. Now this is a worthy subject for most liberal talkers. Just pick it up and go on.
It is oh so obvious, very few Republicans identify and like the current foursome of whacky-doodle candidates. They are like the three stooges plus one. Everything they say is a media junky’s dream. Loaded and filled with classic “Sound bites.” Enough to fill every late night comedians monologue. But, who’s listen to me. Me, the voice of rational thinking. The voice of the Red Dirt Planes. Oh sure. Your are welcome.

Hey guys! We're not reading from the same page. Right?
I really don’t like to criticize people of faith. But I have questions about the faith of Rick Santorum, Mit Romney, and Newt Gingrich. I am wondering if they are reading the same Bible I read. It almost sounds like not. Perhaps instead, they are reading from a political organization handbook.
The Bible I read from speaks of humility and self-sacrifice. Putting others first. Giving them the shirt off our backs. Although, I personally haven’t had to do that yet but, if necessary I shall.
None the less, taking care of the poor, the sick, the homeless, the imprisoned, etc. Is job number one. I just don’t see this working in their personal or political lives. And again, forgive me for this snap judgment but what I see and hear doesn’t seem to correlate. Especially not matching with their rehearsed public persona. It seems their public relations consultants forgot to advise them on what they really should be doing. What to do out in the public to demonstrate their religious benevolence and sincerity. For example, speaking respectfully of others. No matter if they agree or not. However, what I do hear from Mit, Rick, and Newt is mostly slander and misrepresentation. Maybe a little lie or two. Speaking through grimaces narrowed eyes, and furrowed brows.
Am I reading this wrong or are we all reading from separate holy books. Someone explain this to me. I’m confused. Are all these guys just storefront religionist or what? I get the impression they are well versed in “Do as I say and not as I do.” Is that the case? Help! I need clarification. Come to think of it, maybe Mit, Newt, and Rick need clarification as well. Right?

Never stop trying. You might get lucky. It's all you have.
According to Albert Einstein, Newt Gingrich is in engaged in insanity. Here is Einstein’s famous quote:
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein
And of course we are speaking of Newt’s continual attempt to win a primary. He is achieving very little result. Mr. Gingrich still believes he is the chosen candidate to be President. Even though e continues to lose most primaries. Trying and trying but ignoring the final result. Defeat. Turned away. Rejected. Sent home empty handed.
Doesn’t Uncle Newt see the handwriting on the wall? Doesn’t he see the low ballot count. Sometimes the last one on the final result? But yet, he insists he is the one. Yes, the one of the seventh son? Oh well. Never mind.
Newt reminds me of Dr. Strangelove. A loose cannon and out of control. Or, he also appears to be like the Pogo Indian character with the perpetual rain cloud over his head. Forever unhappy and dark. Never the less, Newt Gingrich seems whacky, clueless, and a bit insane.

Fraud from the Big Pharmas
Where is the accountability here? Someone must pay and go to jail!
From today’s USA Today…
$8B fines, but drug fraud continues By Kelly Kennedy, USA TODAY The nation's largest drugmakers have paid at least $8 billion in fines for repeatedly defrauding Medicare and Medicaid over the past decade, but they remain in business with the federal government because they are often the sole suppliers of critical products, records show. Pfizer, the maker of drugs that help alleviate arthritis and other ailments, has paid almost $3 billion in fines since 2002 and entered into three corporate integrity agreements with the Department of Health and Human Services aimed at preventing fraud. It and other companies are fighting attempts by Congress to exclude them from government business because of their history of fraud. Merck, another pharmaceutical giant, paid $1.6 billion in fines since 2008, Medicare and Justice Department records show, to resolve claims it was not paying proper rebates to the government. Pfizer's 2009 settlement was for improperly promoting the use of drugs for purposes other than those for which they were approved by the government…

My comment:
Someone at the top of these big Pharmas must go to jail. They have all the money in the world to pay for their indiscretions and then some. Never being responsible for their ugly deeds. And, they are still making big bucks regardless all the while screwing the federal government. Remember, the federal government is you and me. It’s our money the drug makers are playing with. The CEO and his entire staff must be subject to indictment, prosecution, and incarceration. Perhaps a dozen years or more. If this were the case, this kind of abuse would stop pretty quick. What do you think?

Kick him while he's down.
It’s just a bit hard to pass up hammering Rush Limbaugh. Especially since hundreds of left leaning commentators are steadily pounding his reputation. Mostly since he had without conscience assassinated the character of a young lady testifying before congress.
Of course, this is the perfect opportunity to pile on big fat Rush. Jump in to the fray and kick him while he’s down. Yes, everybody get their licks in. Only one per customer though. Pop! Zing! Pow!
But this is not to say he didn’t deserve a hard lick or two. It’s just that now is the best time to bury his fragile reputation. Everybody’s is doing it. So, why not pour salt on his wounds. After all he deserves it.
Actually no human being deserves a good hard spanking. But, our culture thrives on revenge. It’s in our history. It exist at the movies and on TV. Fiction and non-fiction Books write about it. John Wayne lived it. Wars began with pay back. Even though we are suppose to be humble and religious, push back is still one of our most used weapons. Bang! Pow! Zingo! Take this you creep! Gottcha.
None the less, Rush is the one conservative icon most liberals love to despise. Love to besmirch and prompt on. If nothing else, many would love to be the one to toss a giant pie in Rush’s fat face. Splat!
So, it would be most unfortunate for all if Rush Limbaugh suddenly disappeared. Gone off the air. Never to be heard from again. Leaving no one to channel one’s own disparagement. Who would we all disdain? Who would be the radical far right target to shoot bullets of vengeance at. No one is as reviled as Rush. So, don’t hurt him too severely. We might want to kick him again sometime later. Save most of your arrows of wrath for a later targeting.

What are they thinking? Or, are they?
I don’t understand. Someone please help me. How did the subject of contraception make its way into the political conversation? And one has to ask, why now? Birth control has been going on for centuries. Birth control, as we know it today, have been used since the early 1950s. And, I’m pretty sure, used by tens of thousands of faithful Mass going Catholic women as well as millions of other American women. Possibly even some men. Who knows.
But anyway, how has this come up? It’s almost like a controversy sprung right out of the ground. “Here I am. I’m your new hot button. Red and blistering. Get use to it.”
But as we all know, these issues don’t happen by accident. They are contrived. Manufactured by political strategists. A smoking bomb meant to distract. Solely used as a partisan tool to substitute for the lack of real people issues.
then the hot button fuse is lit and tossed into the political arena. A exploding bomb creating confusion and fear on impact. Uncertain folks Hiding from the fall out of consternation. Something like a roadside bomb.
Don’t get me wrong. Practicing birth control is a legitimate concern but not a political issue. This is a private matter. A decision to be made by women and their doctors and Pastors. This is no place for politicians to become involved. It’s a moral question and not a legal one.
In these days when people want less intrusion from government, this issue is quite the opposite. It is intrusion magnified by partisanism. It’s government intruding where it’s legislative nose shouldn’t be. No government or political body has any business telling women and men what to do or not to do in the bedroom. It’s like if churches can’t control their parishioners, “We’ll get congress to help and do our bidding for us.”
But the truth be known, the contraception issues is just to distract away from real people issues. Issues like health care, education, jobs, environment, conservation, and the list is endless. To say the least, the contraception issue is put in place by severe Conservatives due to a serious lack of real and legitimate issues to pursue. If conservatives can’t come up with real people concerns then, toss in a smoke screen. Do anything. Say anything. Get those freaking liberals off track. It’s our only hope. Distract, distract, and distract.
Certainly the Republican Party could come up with a more humane way to treat the opposition. How pathetic.

The wireless, wireless classroom?
USA Today has an article today about Facebook. Facebook? Yes. College students are spending too much “Classroom time” studying Facebook. Studying Facebook instead of listening to the professor.
Of course some of the suggestions in the article is to take advantage of Facebook and Twitter by sending classroom messages to the students. Fight fire with fire. Put current movie photos on Facebook with captions that support the classroom subject. Maybe a photo of George Clooney from the Defendant with a caption. Caption saying, “You know girls, World War II was started by the Japanese when they bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.” Or, a scene photo from Toy Story 2 showing Mr. Potato Head saying, “French Fries are high in carbohydrates, salt, and vegetable oil.”
My suggestions is to place Mobil jamming devices all over campus. Certainly there would be those crying freedom of expression or unfair usage of electronics. Unfair usage of electronics? Is this the kettle calling the pot black? Yes. You know what I mean. I have no problem with either banning wireless devices or Jam them out of usage. You texters, get a life.

You guys are no longer qualified to run.
What do former Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush have in common? All were Republican? All were born in the United States? All were World War II five star Generals? All were movie stars? All were former vice presidents? Well. So far some of this is right.
Answer:
Here is what these respected Republican gentlemen have in common. Today in the severe conservative atmosphere, None of these Republican icons would ever be nominated for president by their own Party. Using the severe conservative criteria, not one of these former presidents would qualify as a Republican presidential candidate. At least not with today’s far right orthodoxy.
Here’s why. All have raised taxes. Two were Pro choice. None reduced the size of government. All had big spending programs. President Eisenhower had created the national Interstate Highway system. Spending billions of dollars building a vast Interstate highway network from border to border and coast to coast. All the while, putting to work tens of thousands of Americans to work on the huge road project. And guess what? Done with taxes.
Ronald Reagan raised taxes and gave amnesty to many undocumented foreign workers. Plus also offered forgiveness to Viet Nam draft dodgers who fled to Canada.
President G H W Bush, raised taxes after promising to not raise taxes. Remember, “Read my lips?”
All would fail to pass today’s conservative litmus test. Not enough lockstep with the party. They would be severely accused of being too Moderate. Maybe being accused of being too left leaning. Certainly not conscientiously following the party strident dogma. Consequently, all could never be considered for nomination representing the Republican Party in the November presidential election.
I wish the current crop of Republican presidential hopefuls would stop evoking the names of these former respected presidents. Especially since today’s Republican Party is completely far right of the former presidents. It just adds to the candidates hypocrisy and their disregard for the afore mentioned statesmen and their individual conservatism. Why do the Republicans do this to themselves? They just paint themselves into a corner with a pit bull.
God forgive us all and God bless America.

Once again, the flip-flopping merry-go-round.
Just flip flopping all night long.
Just flopping and flipping to a catchy song.
Well anyway, my feeble attempt to write a jingle for Mit Romney. Yes, he has done it again. First he says he won’t and then he says he will.
Now, here is an old tune I found that catches Romney’s campaign style. Here are the lyrics:
(Intro:)
You say it's yes, and then it's no;
You say you'll stay, and then you go -
You're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?
First you say you do, and then you don't,
And then you say you will, and then you won't;
You're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?
Now you want to play, and then it's no,
And when you say you'll stay, that's when you go -
You're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?
(Bridge:)
I've been sittin' on a fence, and it doesn't make much sense,
'Cause you keep me in suspense, and you know it.
You promise to return; when you don't I really burn,
Well, I guess I'll never learn, and I show it!
None the less, I dedicate the above song to the severely changeable Mit Romney. When will he ever learn? Call the Paramedics! “He’s done gone shot himself in the foot again.” Ouch!
