Only the Republicans are the one issue party. Got Hotbuttons?

If you voted for Obama in the 2008 election, and now don’t like what he recently proclaimed, you have several options. All of which needs careful consideration. Its you and many millions of Americans who will have to live with the results.

One: You can run to Mit Romney and embrace everything he says. And what you hear is not necessarily what you get. Remember flip flop?
Two: You can just not vote. A non-vote is the same as voting for Romney.
Three: Vote independent, if there is an Independent candidate. And if there is, most likely this too would be a vote for Romney.

Or,
Four, Vote for Obama even though you don’t agree with all he says and represents. Voting for Obama because he is pro education, pro Health care for all, wants to improve early education, is interested in feeding the nation’s working class poor children, wants consumer protection on banking and credit loans, affordable loans for students, wants women’s health care to be a priority, and is pro union and middle class. Plus Obama wants to improve America’s highways, bridges, railroads, airports, and the list of reasons to stay with Obama is endless. Most of which leads to American jobs.

Don’t let one issue get in the way of Forward thinking. America is not a one issue country. We are diversified. Many things are on our plate and many things must get done. Therefore, compromise is key to America’s success. Please be patient and forgiving. We are the party of tolerance and understanding. God bless America.

And the envelope please!

I would like to award Mit Romney first prize for world’s biggest and best “Second Guesser.” Second guessing no matter what is said or done. Mr. Monday Morning Quarterback. The guy who loves to criticize anything others have done and he has not. Mr. Damn if you do and Damn if you don’t. Always on the hunt for easy criticism cheap shots.

And of course Romney’s favorite target is President Obama. Naturally. The man in the tallest saddle gets the first shot from whining Mit.

I’m sure Mit Romney has been doing this second guess work ever since junior high school. You know the type. Ned the nerd running for school treasurer. If you can’t be a jock, shoot one instead. It’s the Romney thing to do. Take out your opponent with nasty rumors and lies. It works every time.

And of course Mit does this because he has nothing, zero, not one positive proposal of his own to offer to the American voter. Natta, nothing but toxic gas. Hot air. Blowhardism. BS and dog dung.

He is just an agent for No Change. Stay the same Mit. Regressive and Mr. Back Flow. Returning the country to those horrific depression days of Yesteryear. No creativity. No solutions for a bad economy. Status Quo R Us. Just sit on it Mit.

And this is the guy some want to be our President. President? More like the “Grim Reaper.” A guy hired to kill every positive government program there is. Hired by the Koch Brothers and all the backwards thinking regressive. “Let’s drown the government in a bath tub. Oh wait! Pull the military out of there. Just let the DOE and the EPA drown. Try to hold down the Postal Service and make sure it’s dead. Oh! Wait wait. Pull Homeland Security out before it drowns.”

Newt is just the final nail

Nothing could possibly be better for Obama in this election year than what Newt is about to do. Newt Gingrich is endorsing Mit Romney today. I’m sure in order to be chosen as Romney’s running mate. Dr. Strangelove and Howdy Doody. An awesome twosome. Which, if you think about it , pairing this “Odd Couple” is the final nail in the Republican coffin.

None the less, to be tagged by Gingrich on anything is the political “Kiss of Death.” It would be the final shovel of dirt over your grave. Goodbye and I hope your insurance policy is up to date.

No two individuals represent the political party death march to regression than Newt and Mit. Both are poster boys for status quo from the 1930s. Throwbacks to an era most wish to forget. Making Herbert Hoover look like a Knight in White Satin.

But anyway, Gingrich and Romney: the depression twins. Both shrouded in a cloud of red dust. The Dust Bowling brothers. Dusty and Dingy

Republican party! Rest in Peace. I wish it hadn’t ended this way but this is what you had chosen as your standard bearers. Maybe more like pallbearers.

Take me back to those bad old days. Here, take all my money.

How can I say this in a nice way? And I’m trying to be as non-partisan as possible but, our current economic and unemployment problems come from bad policy from the previous administration. And I will leave it up to you to discover what administration took over government in 2001.

Ignoring government banking and financial regulations is what got us into a horrific housing loan meltdown. Plus little regulation that took down some well known investment houses and energy corps. Remember Bare-Sterns and Lehman Brothers. And who can forget Enron Energy Corp. And how about that investment scammer guy Bernard Madoff? Just Wall Street at its worse. Freewheeling, under regulated, and working against the American can do spirit.

We Americans can’t let this happen again. Wall Street and big corporations want no restraint. Want no regulation. Want no government involvement. All are recipes for another meltdown and recession. Do we need another recession? Do we want our hard earned savings to slip away into the hands of big banks and big corporations? Leaving many of us in financial ruin? Is this what you want?

It will happen again if we take our attention off scamming practices brought to us by Wall Street, Big Banks, Big energy, or any other heavy handed corporation or lobbying groups.

I hate to point fingers but in general, the Republican party is the party of NO regulations. Leaving any government benefit or savings you may have at risk. Risk of total loss. And let me mention here, check this out for yourself. Read the reports. Read the newspaper accounts. Read the books. Study this for yourself. You yourself remember the bad years after 2001 and especially from 2007 to 2009. Tens of thousands losing their homes to foreclosure. Tens of thousands filing for bankruptcy. Job loss, no health care, no opportunity for a college education, businesses sending jobs overseas, manufacturing shutting down, and the list was endless. All because we took our eyes off big corporate interest scamming the American people. Just a huge transfer of wealth from the middle class to the extreme rich. Plain and simple.

Don’t let this happen again. Start locally and vote out any incumbent congress man or woman who are working against your best interest. America will work for your advantage if some regulation is put in place to prevent scamming and stealing your life savings. Pay attention. Read the facts. Ask hard questions. Then vote for the person that will best serve your community. God Bless America.

The TEA party for Adolph Hitler

I once thought there might be some redeeming qualities left in the Republican Party. But yesterday’s vote on the transportation bill and the budget clearly indicates the Republican Party is Anti-prosperity, anti-middle class, and anti-American. A group of partisan individuals still marching in lock step. Goose steppers. Lapdogs for the rich and mostly Fascist in their politics. Hitler would love these people.

All I can say the Republican leadership in congress is despicable and a disgrace to all America. John Boehner is a poster boy for a TEA party doormat. A wimp and a big lump of silly-putty. He is not a leader but a hire custodian for the rich and Big Oil. He is as unpatriotic as any elected member of congress can be. A man on the take. Vote for hire. “I’ll do anything for your big bucks.”

The enemy of the state these days are the Republicans. Doing whatever it takes to thwart the American people and its attempts to rise from its economic difficulties. And just think, for almost 40-years I was a registered Republican. A disgrace I wish to forget. Shame on the Republican leaders and its dishonorable actions against all Americans. There other things I wish to say about Republicans but my wife would send me out of the house. But anyway, you Republicans know how I feel about you. It is very very hot where I wish you to go. Sort of like “Global Warming” coming to get you.

What a sad ending

Spiraling down in a blaze of disgrace. And just think, I use to be a Republican. What happened? Why is the Republican Party crashing and burning? It seems only lies and more lies are their only hope to defeat President Obama. Where are their morals? Where are their ethics? What happened to fair play? What happened to respect and honor? What happened to the Golden Rule?

Richard Nixon had more going for himself.

When will they ever get it? Are they clueless? Where is the sensibility and common sense. Gone? Long time passing? Long long ago?

Surely the Republican voters have more good judgment than has been displayed in the past few months of Republican state primaries and caucuses. It is so obvious to the rest of the world that these four Looney-Toon Republican candidates are not Presidential material. Not even janitorial material. They are junior high sniveling twits. Just squirrel bate. Dog kibble or cat litter.

There must be some hope somewhere. Surely a Lincoln or Eisenhower will come out of the woodwork. Hopefully soon. Even a Gerald Ford would be acceptable. Anybody. Anyone with a willingness to work with both political parties. Someone who assumes the blame now and then. Not always blaming others. You know. “The buck stops here.”

But who? Someone who is an all around good guy or gal. Yes, a gal. It just might be the right time for a Woman President. Perhaps Olympia Snow. Yeah, go for it!

I will promise you this, I'll always say no.

While the junior grade presidential candidates are all bloviating how evil President Obama is, the president is getting things done in spite of a do-nothing-congress. Amidst all the hullabaloo of the primaries President Obama is at work and on the job. And if he isn’t in the Oval Office, the office goes wherever he goes.

But anyway, while the President is writing and proposing policy, the junior presidential want-a-bee’s are hard at work trying to redefine who President Obama is. Or, at least who they wish him to be. Even though he is not what they say. Never mind who the Republican leadership is and the candidates are.

If you can’t come up with reasonable policies or legislation for America, then slam your opponent. Make him or her look bad. A good lie or two helps. I am ashamed to admit it but the Republicans are only good at one thing. Labeling others and distorting the truth. More like ignoring the truth and slandering whomever they revile. They even disparage and pound each other. Mit loves to hammer Newt. Just watch and listen.

But the bottom line for Republican Presidential hopefuls is, they have no promises nor are they willing to make promises. I take that back. They promise to undo everything President Obama work hard for. No willing intent for the greater good. Just buyer beware and the banks and insurance companies want your money. And will be aided by congressional deregulation and fuzzy legislation

Now ask yourself this. Better yet, ask a Republican. Were Republicans the ones who came up with Health care reform? No. Was it Republicans that came up with consumer protection and banking regulation? No. Was it Republicans that brought back the automobile industry from disaster? No. Did congressional Republicans try to protect your drinking water and air quality? No. Was it Republicans who tried to protect all American’s civil rights and human equality? No. Was it Republicans who tried to promote quality education? No. Was it Republicans who want all Americans to earn at least a livable minimum wage? No. Is it the Republicans leadership that support public workers? No.

The Republicans hate public schools. They hate public school teachers. Republicans despise policemen and their unions. Also dislike firemen and their collective bargaining. And the same goes for nurses, social workers, school councilors, the board of education and on and on.

So, if you talk to a man or woman running for public office and they plan to get rid of Obamacare, ask him or her with what will they replace Obamacare with. How will they make health care affordable? What will they do with the millions of families without health care. What will they plan to do to develop alternative energy? How will they bring down the cost of gasoline. With what will they replace coal fire power plants with. Natural gas? Nuclear? Wind, solar, bio fuels or what?

What will happen is, you will get that silly smirk and a look of “are you kidding me?” Republicans don’t do that kind of stuff. We have no policies. No reforming legislation. Just criticism for the President. They hate the President. They think he’s a failure and America is going to hell in a hand basket. Oh, sure. Just look around.

Therefore, all the Republicans wants, is the President’s job. Nothing else. No progressive policies or helpful legislation for America. No health care. No clean air. No jobs. Temporary work on a pipeline is not a job or career.

All the Republicans can say, “Just give me the Whitehouse. I deserve it.” Oh? Really?

What are they thinking? Or, are they?

I don’t understand. Someone please help me. How did the subject of contraception make its way into the political conversation? And one has to ask, why now? Birth control has been going on for centuries. Birth control, as we know it today, have been used since the early 1950s. And, I’m pretty sure, used by tens of thousands of faithful Mass going Catholic women as well as millions of other American women. Possibly even some men. Who knows.

But anyway, how has this come up? It’s almost like a controversy sprung right out of the ground. “Here I am. I’m your new hot button. Red and blistering. Get use to it.”

But as we all know, these issues don’t happen by accident. They are contrived. Manufactured by political strategists. A smoking bomb meant to distract. Solely used as a partisan tool to substitute for the lack of real people issues.

then the hot button fuse is lit and tossed into the political arena. A exploding bomb creating confusion and fear on impact. Uncertain folks Hiding from the fall out of consternation. Something like a roadside bomb.

Don’t get me wrong. Practicing birth control is a legitimate concern but not a political issue. This is a private matter. A decision to be made by women and their doctors and Pastors. This is no place for politicians to become involved. It’s a moral question and not a legal one.

In these days when people want less intrusion from government, this issue is quite the opposite. It is intrusion magnified by partisanism. It’s government intruding where it’s legislative nose shouldn’t be. No government or political body has any business telling women and men what to do or not to do in the bedroom. It’s like if churches can’t control their parishioners, “We’ll get congress to help and do our bidding for us.”

But the truth be known, the contraception issues is just to distract away from real people issues. Issues like health care, education, jobs, environment, conservation, and the list is endless. To say the least, the contraception issue is put in place by severe Conservatives due to a serious lack of real and legitimate issues to pursue. If conservatives can’t come up with real people concerns then, toss in a smoke screen. Do anything. Say anything. Get those freaking liberals off track. It’s our only hope. Distract, distract, and distract.

Certainly the Republican Party could come up with a more humane way to treat the opposition. How pathetic.

You guys are no longer qualified to run.

What do former Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush have in common? All were Republican? All were born in the United States? All were World War II five star Generals? All were movie stars? All were former vice presidents? Well. So far some of this is right.

Answer:
Here is what these respected Republican gentlemen have in common. Today in the severe conservative atmosphere, None of these Republican icons would ever be nominated for president by their own Party. Using the severe conservative criteria, not one of these former presidents would qualify as a Republican presidential candidate. At least not with today’s far right orthodoxy.

Here’s why. All have raised taxes. Two were Pro choice. None reduced the size of government. All had big spending programs. President Eisenhower had created the national Interstate Highway system. Spending billions of dollars building a vast Interstate highway network from border to border and coast to coast. All the while, putting to work tens of thousands of Americans to work on the huge road project. And guess what? Done with taxes.

Ronald Reagan raised taxes and gave amnesty to many undocumented foreign workers. Plus also offered forgiveness to Viet Nam draft dodgers who fled to Canada.

President G H W Bush, raised taxes after promising to not raise taxes. Remember, “Read my lips?”

All would fail to pass today’s conservative litmus test. Not enough lockstep with the party. They would be severely accused of being too Moderate. Maybe being accused of being too left leaning. Certainly not conscientiously following the party strident dogma. Consequently, all could never be considered for nomination representing the Republican Party in the November presidential election.

I wish the current crop of Republican presidential hopefuls would stop evoking the names of these former respected presidents. Especially since today’s Republican Party is completely far right of the former presidents. It just adds to the candidates hypocrisy and their disregard for the afore mentioned statesmen and their individual conservatism. Why do the Republicans do this to themselves? They just paint themselves into a corner with a pit bull.
God forgive us all and God bless America.

It's like an endless NBA playoff. Never will be decided.

It is very apparent the Republican Party doesn’t like any of the four Republican candidates. Mit, Newt, Ron, and Rick. The flab four. All misfits. All embarrassing and out of touch.

If there were someone there with any credentials or repute, he would be the consistent front runner. Always in favor by the party general electorate. Out front and ready for the Party’s convention this summer.

But, part of the out of control party flip flopping is, the Republicans are splintered and can’t make up their collective mind. Divided and headed in different direction. Mostly intolerant of each other’s extreme orthodoxy. Therefore not really able to decide who get to makes up the party rules. And in the process pushing moderates out the back door and losing membership to the Independents.

At the moment however, Rick Santorum is the anti-Mit. Santorum is the vote against Mit Romney. Which might indicate Newt Gingrich could be the next anti-Rick or anti-Mit. And the candidacy war Merry-go-round continues on. Almost like the changing flavor of the week. Who will be the next anti-Golden boy? Newt? Mit? Ron? Or, Rick?

It all indicates the Republican Party is less than thrilled with all four survivors on the Republican island. So, perhaps now would be a good time to vote them all off and start afresh. Find somebody all could agree on. Maybe a spring Convention would be in order. First decide who you are and then decide who you want to represent the Republican Party. Perhaps a national Republican convention and referendum could be a good start. Find one guy or gal and go with it. Save all the wasted time and money ping ponging around the country. Pick one and go and stop wasting our time and attention. Find your guy and we will see you in November.

There is the right way. Which is also the wrong way.

Those of you who are retired and receiving social security and Medicare or VA medical care, are you ready to give up those benefits? Go on your own? Maybe pay as you go? Pay on the lay away plan any surgical treatment needed?

I am talking especially to those of you who are registered Republican and plan to vote only Republican. I am saying this because your party leadership wants to eliminate your SSI benefits. “Too costly.” Never mind the FICA money collected through SSI and subsequently stolen by the Bush administration to fund two “Costly” and mostly unnecessary wars. They use to fund these kinds of wars by selling War Bonds. Remember? None the less, your party leadership wants your Social Security payments to make payment on the national debt. So they say.

Anyway, you might want to start looking for a job or buy a lottery ticket. Maybe go to an indigenous tribe casino and hope to get lucky.

Oh well, hardship can easily be overcome. Our parents had to do this when they were forced to ration and limit their food and housing during and after World War II. So sudden poverty may be coming to a homeless shelter near you. So get ready. Tighten your belts. Suck it in. Get ready for the big social crash. “Depression numbers two is on it’s way.” It’s the Republican way.

Who are those guys and what do they want anyway?

What do Republicans want? Are there not any proactive programs they wish to present to America? What positive suggestions can they offer to bring the USA back to prosperity?

I know we have heard all about the “Shovel Ready” projects Congress has been railing about. However those jobs are temporary and have no meaningful benefits. No health care, education, and retirement benefits. America wants jobs that have longevity. Americans want careers not part-time/temp jobs that only benefit shareholders. Americans want jobs that benefit the greater good of all American.

Now, Congress wants to get rid of the “Fed.” Along with a dozen or so agencies. Agencies like the Department of Energy, Federal Housing Authority, Environmental Protection Agency, Consumer Protection Bureau, and other agencies that benefit and protect all Americans.

The only discernable goal the Republicans want is to get rid of Obama and rid the whole country of Democrats and Liberals. Is this a worthy goal for America? Will this benefit us creating a one party system? Well, I guess it worked for Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. Is this what we want? This is certainly what we will get if we continue to support a do nothing congress that’s only interest is to say No to every progressive proposal. No compromise. No give and take. No sharing of ideas. No measurable progress. Just sit on it.

Nonetheless, Republicans are not offering any significant plans to help America dig its way out of this current economic mire. Just blame the President and criticize any suggestion that isn’t of their own making. No thought on how to revive the economy. No suggestions on how to extend health benefit to all Americans. No thoughts on how to clean up the air and water environment. No ideas on how to better educate our children. No thoughts on how to maintain peace in the troubled spots of the world. No thoughts and no reasonable workable ideas at all. What do Republicans want anyway?

Who are these people anyway?

It is still not known what the Republican Party stands for. They don’t like your social security. They want to get rid of your Medicare. Republicans are set against clean air and water. Selling oil and burning coal is more important than conserving America’s energy resources.

Nonetheless, there seems to be no proactive policies to make America better. No public transportation policies. No positive health care initiatives. No bold and forward looking education policies.

Just cut taxes for the rich and shrink government (whatever that means).

Who are these people? What do they want? It is most apparent they want to kill all social programs, kill consumer protection, shrink education, get rid of any programs that serves the nonworking and working poor. Then in turn fund only the military and protect oil, gas, and coal companies. Sucking oil out of the ground is more important than helping single moms and their dependents.

What kind of people are these? Uncaring, self-serving, war and money mongers, psychopaths, narcissistic, and generally people of the military-industrial complex. Just as President Eisenhower warned us.

These are the people who are running congress and the Defense Department as we speak. Is this what we want to run the Whitehouse? People with no interest in your well-being? Wanting to reduce your role as citizen to that of consumer drone. Just buy and use what we tell you and shut up. This is what happened with the G W Bush administration and look what happened. Major recession and an increase in joblessness and homelessness.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Republican Party.

Just breathe in that wonderful Ozone. Aah.

So for the Republican Party and its leadership, it is best to protect energy jobs than to bow to such radical organizations such as the American Lung Association. Who needs clean air anyway? Just breathe that carbon right into your lungs. Asthma is just an old wives tale. Isn’t it? Ozone is for real men! “Where’s my leaf blower?”

I’m sure it’s not in the Republican policy book but clean air is a job killer. Clean drinking water is a job killer. To stop mountain top exploding for coal mining is a job killer.

How about some mercury with your drinking water? Or maybe, some fracked gas? What say? Pretty good stuff. Don’t ya think?

So, who cares if your children get leukemia? No concern of mine. They shouldn’t be playing outside anyway.

Oh really?

Just sign the stupid thing and go home.

It appears Wall Street is trading down this morning. One reason is Congress. Congress unable to compromise.

And, one of the chief compromisers is unwilling to compromise. John Boehner (pronounced Boner) won’t negotiate because the TEA party warlords won’t allow reasonable compromise. Bohner, Speaker of the House, is on a tight leash and refuses to compromise. Never mind the rest of America. America wanting to get this done and get the Congress struggles off the news headlines. Headlines most damaging and embarrassing to the Republican Party. Making House Speaker John Boehner look like a monkey on a string.

What is there not to negotiate? Why can’t this happen and all go home. The Senate has gone home and left with the House a bipartisan Senate Bill. What more could the House want? Surely we are not playing junior high games here are we? Come on guys. Compromise and go home. Your Lay-aways are waiting to be picked up.

Letter to our Editor: Tulsa World

Letter to the Editor: Robot-like adherence. E.K. Sharp, Tulsa. When President Barack Obama announced that our armed forces will leave Iraq before year's end, Republican representatives in Congress denounced his decision as being premature and unwise. This latest denouncement follows a pattern I have been observing about the Republicans, who are automatically opposed to anything said or done by our president. This, sadly, leads me to the conclusion that bringing down the president is fast becoming more important to them than what is best for our country. Robot-like adherence to a party line in issues is hardly what a party system of government is meant to be. The almost instant criticism by the Republicans of the president's decision makes me wonder whether they would have likewise criticized the judgment of President Obama in this matter if the president had, instead, announced that our troops would stay in Iraq longer. I try not to pay attention to the sneaky feeling in my gut that they would. We need members of Congress to vote their consciences instead of blindly voting the party line. Making sense of it all.

Each time I listen to or hear about another Republican debate, I scratch my head and wonder. I keep asking myself will sensibility ever return to the campaign and voting process in America.  Will truly qualified candidates ever come back to the table and enter the debate?  Well, the prospect looks dim.  Hope is fading fast.

Of course, this time the whole process has been tossed on it’s ear.  Shifting the debate and focus on Rick Perry’s entrance into the Republican scrimmage.  Shifting far right ideology further to the right and drawing all the other candidates along with him.  Sort of like a Texas tornado gathering debris and tossing it over the landscape.  Mostly moving more towards civil war and creating a confederacy.

Nonetheless, I am most concerned because I use to be a Republican.  But in later years since Ronald Reagan, my party abandoned me.  Leaving me in the middle.  Consequently leaving me in the hands of Independent mongers.  People of extreme logic and rationality. 

So I roam through the wilderness searching for who or what to identify with.  Certainly not the right.  And, certainly not the left.  Thus leaving me to decide for myself and Making my own decisions.  Forcing me to study the real issues independently and away from partisan spin and hyperbole.  Well you know ladies and gentlemen, it seems to be working out okay this way.  You should try it.
