So you guys, what went wrong?

One could only surmise that the Rick Santorum’s wins in Colorado, Missouri, and Minnesota were really a vote against Mit Romney. Republican voters are just yet not warmed up to Romney. Pointing towards the conspicuous divide in the Republican Party. Unquestionably indicating there is yet more compromising and fixing to be done in the GOP.

The Grand Old Party just isn’t all that Grand any more. More like splintered with too many extremes pulling in opposite directions. Obviously leaving a “House Divided against itself.” Leaving in its wake uncompromising, disgruntled, fractious, hotheaded, and most distracted party members derailed from a common goal. All of this craziness is of their own making. “You reap what you sew (look it up in the Bible).”

If the Republican Party weren’t so demanding of their candidates, they could easily come up with the almost ideal candidate. Maybe allowing him or her to be a little human would be a good start. Allowing a candidate to own his or her own ideas. A candidate can’t be one hundred percent pure red Republican. Give the guy or gal a little wiggle room. He or she is not flawed but only an individual and most human.

I left the Republican Party back in 2002 after 42-years in the GOP. Feeling I didn’t have much in common with the far right fundamentalist evangelical party leadership any more. It was so obvious the GOP was shifting at an alarming rate to the extreme right. And in the process ridding itself of any moderates and independents. Something like they do in China and Iran. Purging itself of any party dissidents and free thinkers. How scary!

But anyway, Rick Santorum’s win in the recent election and Caucuses was a fluke. An aberration. Most likely a statement against Romney. And as a result many Republican voters will leave the party. Most likely registering as Independents. How befitting to a Republic founded on the Declaration of Independence. God Bless America.

Antipathy is their battle cry.

So answer this, if the Republican candidates want to get rid of Medicare, what would they replace it with? What will their health care program look like? How much would it cost? Will it get rid of the health insurance middlemen? Will our taxes go down?

Now, answer this one. If the Republicans get rid of collective bargaining for state and municipal workers does that mean they would hire more teachers, healthcare workers, police and firemen? Would this save enough money to hire all these public safety workers and educators? Will the classroom population in schools become smaller? Would there be more skilled and trained fire and policemen? Will the county hospitals have more nurses and health care aids?

And, if the Republicans de-fund and/or get rid of the EPA could air and water quality become better? Would drinking water taste better? Will the air become clearer? Will there be less coal-fired power plants? Fewer coalmines? No strange chemical in our drinking water?

Well, if you want the truth, the Republicans have no plan for health care. Republicans have no plans to hire more teachers and public safety workers. And they for sure have no plans to clean up the environment. It’s not on their agenda. Republicans have no social or environmental agenda.

If it were left up to the Republicans, schools, fire and police departments would all go private. Serving only the few who could afford it. Health care, and public safety would be on a subscription basis. Again, serving only the affluent few. Only the few and the very rich could live far out in the protected subburbs. Far away from the air and water pollution.

Is this who you want to run Washington DC? Politicians serving only the few?

Was Ronald Reagan a champion of "One Percent?"

Old Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

Of course we all have heard the old saw, “Out of the frying pan and into the fire.” Right? Well, this is the juncture where we are now. At a critical crossroads.

So, if you think it’s bad now in your part of the USA, just you wait. Sure the economy is not good now. But if we change management in Washington in November 2012, you and I will experience the slogan, from the frying pan into the fire.” In other words, going from bad to worse. If you didn’t like what the Obama administration had done just try to imagine what will happen if Rick Perry and his guys take over.

Goodbye Social Security. Goodbye Medicare. Goodbye to any semblance of health care. Goodbye jobs. Goodbye unemployment insurance. Goodbye quality public education. Goodbye to collective bargaining. And, goodbye to any assistance the federal government can offer. Plus goodbye to any protective regulations. Consumer bewares. Good air and water quality, good-bye. No more minimum wage guarantee. Goodbye to any assurance of a quality and long lasting career.


Hello to your all-new confederacy. Hello to another Civil War. War between the states. Hello to a religious dominated government. Hello to loss of personal rights. Goodbye to immigration. And, hello to a work force made of single moms and unemployable military vets. And, hello to an administration that has no discernable job plan. Just wait and wait for trickle down. Cool huh?

So, do you want the all-new Perry administration, which is totally in the fire? Or, retain Obama who is struggling to climb out of the frying pan? You can either help Obama on this road to recovery or jump head first in to the hellish fires of the Perry debacle. It’s your choice.
