Hard headedness is our worst enemy. Just save your breath.

How do you reason with someone who is caught up in hysteria and paranoia? What truths or logic can be used to get your point across? Especially when no fact or positive proof works with them. They almost seem mentally and physically deaf and in the irreversible grip of insanity. Sometimes you just have to walk away and let them stew in their own venom. Hopefully a good slap in the face might bring them back to consciousness. But, don’t hold your breath.

None the less, the above condition seems to exist in some people when discussing politics or religion. No matter what reasoning you use, some folks appear to be possessed by a hyper dogma that defies any proof or set of facts. It’s like talking to a chicken with its head cut off. Just flutter and flailing. Just get out of the way. They are headed for self-destruction.

So, just do as Jesus suggested, don’t cast your pearls before swine. Shake the dust off your shoes and leave. You’ve done what you can say or do.

The whole scenario describes people who resist trusting the knowledge of wise council. “I know what I know and no one else will ever change my mind.” This is the thinking of people caught up in suspicion and fear. Paranoia. Hysteria. People not wanting to know the truth or other’s perspectives. Absolute willful ignorance. Education is evil and it takes too much time away from blustering and bloviation.

So, just step away from trouble. Do what you got to do and enjoy life. God bless America.

I vote for Mit because I like him. Really.

So, tell me. What do you like about Mit Romney and why would you vote for him? Uh huh. He’s a lifelong Republican? Oh. Just like yourself? Is that all? Oh, he’s a conservative with a good education? Anything else you would like to add here? Uh hum. Oh? You think his wife is smart and speaks well of Mit? Yes, she certainly is smart. Good point.

Well, since we are on a roll here, what else attracts you to Mit’s candidacy? His economic policies? Or perhaps you agree with his social policies? Well then, you must like his position on health care. Right? Not really sure? You know, former Governor Romney passed and signed the Massachusetts Affordable Health care Act. Remember? Oh no! Well, I wouldn’t call it socialized medicine. After all it involves many private health care providers. It would be more privatized than socialized. Do you see my point?

Anything else? Why yes. Yes, he is rich. Why do you bring that up? You think what? Oh. You think he will make everybody else rich if we all vote for him? I’m afraid I don’t follow you on that point. Are you rich? No?

His business experience? His business experience will enable all Americans to be rich? Hmm. In what way? He will teach us what? Oh. How to be Private Equity capitalist? Oh really? And he said what? He will liquidate Social Security and dissolve Medicare and use the money for What? Use it for off-shore ventures? Now, really? You honestly believe that?

Anything else you wish to mention about Mit Romney. Oh! He’s has the wise council left over from the George W Bush administration? Really? Cheney? Carl Rove? Donald Rumsfeld? All those guys?

Holy moly! Her comes another horrific recession. Maybe more like a full blown depression. Everybody! Hide your gold right away.

Congress is the big 'speed bump' in the road.

All America wants to do is work at a reasonable job, own a home, educate it’s children, maintain good health, and help others. However, standing in the way of America’s beneficent is a recalcitrant congress. A dysfunctional Congress bought and paid for by ill intended corporate lobbyist with deep pockets filled with reelection money.

And we are talking about Corporations ably aided by congress purposefully filtering all available money away from middle America. Money diverted into private corporation bank accounts. Then generously distributed to all participating congressmen and women. A reward for congress changing laws that unfairly advantage the rich and take away from the working class and poor.

All the while congress is blaming the federal government for wisely taxing the rich and distributing benefit to preschool children, to the elderly, the disabled, and working class poor. Certainly a Biblical concept. RememberWWJD?

So why do we Americans allow this? Why do we keep on reelecting the same old congress whose only interest is to enable the rich and oppress the poor? Why do grass root Americans vote against their own interests? Often voting for a nebulous mysterious ideology and not voting for an American belief. Beliefs as in “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

America! Wake up! Smell the coffee and go do your job. Your job is to know your district congressman or woman. Let them know you are not interested in subsidizing the rich but advantaging the middle class. Helping the middle class take care of its poor, homeless, sick, and cleaning up the environment. Congress! Get out of the way!

Alley Oop for President

Do you remember the old Rod Serling program called “Twilight Zone? A 1960s TV program filled with ghastly surprises and irony. Endings bordering on the odd and bazaar. Things you would not have expected or wished you hadn’t witnessed. Horrific. Paranormal. Out of body. Ghostly. An sometimes most frightening. Fade to black. Oooooo!

This is what I think of when I view the press conferences and debates of the current crop of Republican Presidential candidates. Certainly a motley crew of misfits. Paranormal. Ghastly. Frightening.

Candidates saying things one should not let their children hear. Candidates possibly coming from another planet. Perhaps from another universe. Coming from far away in a distance galaxy. Many light-years away. Many generations of cultures away. All caught up in a time warp. Maybe creatures from America 950 BC. Cave men. Prehistoric in manners and thinking. Certainly a motley crew. Please! Fade to black. Get out of here. Leave us alone.

My quick takes:

It appears the Catholic Church is becoming more and more political. Issuing decrees from the Vatican. Decrees such as the anti-contraception position. Certainly a religious body should take a stand on issues affecting it’s parishes but not during a political season and with the full force of the right wing media. Obviously a political statement. Of course, all of this is aside from its problems with pedophile priests. Something is wrong with this fuzzy photograph. It’s time to tax the church because of its political posturing.

I’m sorry about Whitney Houston. Just like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Karen Carpenter, and scores of celebrity’s drug and alcohol abusers before her, Whitney also has fallen victim to a superstar celebrity media hype system. Too much money. Too much time. Too much media and tabloid. Mothers, don’t let your children grow up to be superstars.

Just when you feel safe, here comes Sarah and Michele again. Both bloviating and speaking recklessly at the C-PAC convention in Washington DC. Someone please explain to me what Sarah meant by “WTF.” Is this how Evangelical Right Wingers talk. Then there’s Michele Bachmann. “I’m still the Perfect Republican Candidate.” Oh really? Perfect? If my mom heard me talk like Sarah and Michele, she would wash my mouth out with Ivory soap.

What was that cartoon strip with the big nosed Indian character with the constant rain cloud over his head? Was it Pogo or something else? None the less, Newt Gingrich acts, talks, and looks like this character. Gaingrich is always the bad weather guy. Mr. Minus. Mr. Undo. Mr. Nay sayer. Mr. Bash and mutilate the opposition. A Republican Candidate with the one trick pony. Just lash out at anything that gets in his way. Absolutely indicating Newt has nothing positive or constructive to suggest or propose for America. Perhaps they need a President on the Moon. Up there where Newt wants to build a colony. Go for it Newt!

If you can't say something bad, then say something worse.

What the Republicans don’t want to hear at this moment is, the economy is getting better. Too much credit will be given to the socialist Obama. Nor do they want to read in the papers, many recipients of “Obamacare” are saying they like what they are experiencing with O-care. Or, many Americans think it’s it has been well past time to appoint a Consumer Protection Czar. Neither do the Republicans want to hear employment has gone up and unemployment has gone down. And there are other positive government benefits to attribute to President Obama as well. “Please Mr. and Ms. Media, don’t let anybody know about this.” Please!

So, what the Republican presidential candidates continue to say is, Obama is a dangerous socialist and can’t be trusted. He is a failure. He and his family have no family values.

So as Mit Romney hides his unfortunate business past, he continues to blather about the anti-American socialist Obama. However, the newspaper headlines don’t seem to support Romney’s concerns about Obama or the collective concerns of other Republican presidential candidates.

Even though Newt Gingrich has been married three times with two regrettable divorces, Newt continues to bloviate about the evil President Obama. Liberal, socialist, and darling of the free world. “How could he!”?

Never the less, the only way to hide Obama’s good deeds, is to “Smoke screen” the President’s resume. Say naughty things about him. Call him Big Government. Label him leftist and a Health care Santa Claus. My gosh, how bad can he be?

But, most unfortunate is the fact all the Republican candidates have been caught in lies, exaggerations, re-manufactured untruths, rumors, innuendos, slander, misrepresentations, and many other slight of hand spinning media magic. All of which is to discredit the current president.

How else can one make themselves look good. Characterize your opponent as a Boston Strangler. Misrepresenting of your political opponent often takes the spotlight off of you. See how that works? The Republicans invented it. And they even use this tactic against each other as well.

So Republicans, your misdeeds are on Facebook, Twitter, and on every blog around the world. You can’t hide from it. You can’t deny it. You are what you are. Bad mouthing blowhards.

Pollution is job killers

There are always two sides to a story. But if we just listen to the pro-pollution conservative, you would think they were fighting a battle against “Regulation Mongers.” Regulation for regulation’s sake. Regulations that is loved and embraced by legislating control freaks. Sometimes known as Liberals.

You would think there is a war against job producing industries. Industries such as coal burning power plants, mounting top exploding coal mining, hydraulic fracturing gas producers, and others. And again, war against businesses that create jobs. Jobs the out of work would like to have.

But wait, it seems regulation are put in place to protect us from ourselves. Jobs that produce hazardous or polluted environments. Polluting ground water. Damaging and polluting nearby streams and animal habitats. Pollution that fills the air with hazardous materials. Mercury and carbon dioxide. Both if ingested or breathed in large quantities could kill people, plant life, and local animals. But to regulate these industries is a job killer. Never mind the byproduct of CO2 and mercury can also be a job killer. Killing the workers themselves and their families.

If you want to talk about job killers, you could make a good case for growing marijuana. Growing marijuana provides many jobs and good money. Why regulate the growing, harvesting, and selling of marijuana? Well, because it is heavily regulated and rightly so.

Never the less, the true conservative could be characterized as pro-smog. Pro-water polluting. Pro-air polluting. And, people killers. From methane polluted ground water to hazardous working conditions for miners. All producing killing situations. The ultimate job killer.
