The mulling is over so let's hit the ground.

So, the Supremes made their big pronouncement. Then, let’s move on. It’s now time to get Congress back into shape. Drag them out of their tribal cave and back into fresh air. Back to sanity and meaningful legislation.

You wouldn't marry someone who is already married, would you?

How long are we going to ignore this issue? Do we want a Congress beholding to the corporation’s narrow interests? Interests seeking more tax cuts, fewer regulations, free to pollute, ramping up more predatory lending, banks teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, putting the tax burden on the middle class, free to spend any amount of money to buy a Congressman or woman, and all not beholding to government or anyone. Totally in the shadows with no transparency. Just do as they please.

Or do you want a Congress working for the voters. Giving allegiance to their local constituency and creating legislation beneficial to the American people. Job creation, providing health benefit, support for quality education, more teachers, more police and fire responders, and providing a safe and secure land of natural beauty and resourceful promise. Pretty much how our fore fathers wanted it. Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. Possibly even Reagan, Kennedy, and Eisenhower. All wanting the best for America.

When left unregulated, corporations have only one interest. Profit, share holders, and make it as cheap as you can. Sending jobs overseas to low wage countries, while taking good jobs from Americans.

So, it’s yours and my decision. Keep the current congress. A congress like a monkey on a string. And the corporations are holding the strings.

Or vote for only those candidates who have the best interest of America in mind. Loyal only to voters in your district or state. True Americans. Pledging to resist big corporate money and work only for the people who elected them.

It’s your decision. A responsible congress or a congress lured by deep pocketed lobbyists and robber barons.

From today's Tulsa World Newspaper

From today’s Tulsa World Newspaper:

Will Rogers Says,
We are a people that don't stay with one thing very long. We stayed with the Republicans longer than we ever did with anybody else, but that taught us a lesson, and we will see that that don't happen again . - Sept. 16, 1934 Quote provided by the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. Saturday morning came to a halt because of a one dollar part.

Saturday morning clothe washing:

Loaded in my dirty clothes. Filled the detergent tray. Shut the front loading door. Hmm? Something wrong. Door will not latch. Washer will not run without latching. Maybe a sock stuck in the door jam. Hmm. Nope. Looked all around the door and door facing.
Ah Haa! Here it is. Tiny plastic latch hook broke. Latch hook broke. Possibly a one dollar item. A one dollar item that makes or brakes a washer.
Why would a self respecting manufacturer make a plastic latch that would prevent the entire front loading washer from working if part is broke. What happened to metal parts. A metal part here would only increase the part price by another dollar. A two dollar metal part. Especially a part that is so needed and vulnerable to slamming and abuse. But no. The part is plastic. How stupid.

It’s like launching a space shuttle dependent on a internal switch powered by a rubber band. Then if the one cent rubber band brakes then, the whole flight is scrubbed.

Washer machine engineers certainly must be smarter than that. Right? Well, I guess not. Why bother with metal when plastic is so readily available. Love that plastic. It’s American way of making things.

Now the whole thing is inoperable. A hundred pounds of scrap. In its present form a pile of junk waiting for the crusher. Kaa-scrunk! Worth more as scrap metal than in its present stage of disrepair. Just a convenient surface to pile dog food and laundry detergent upon.

In the mean time all my dirty clothes are in the front loading tumbler soaked with liquid detergent. Dirty and not possible to wear. What to do?

So, not only are iPhones programmatic, but so are poorly engineered front loading washers as well. Where’s my hammer?

Hurry, hurry, hurry! See the committee chairman lie like a rug.

Darrell Issa should be held in contempt of America. Failing to to honor the constitutional sworn will of the House of Representatives. Turning his House position into a Circus ring master and bellowing like a side show barker. Saying untruths while hiding his intent. His intent? To distort, demean, dishonor, and bring down the American government. An anti-American sold out to big money interests. Interests attempting to embezzle all American’s money. Pollute the entire Earth. De-regulate banking and Wall Street so consumers have no recourse or rights. Hold America hostage so banking and energy drains all capital into an offshore bank. Need I say more?

So the only way to get this done is bring down Obama. Fire the Attorney General and weaken all regulatory agencies and then take control of yours and my money.

Does it sound like I am angry? Yes! I am. I use to think there were some redeeming values in the Republican party but after about two years after the 2010 election, I see NO redeeming values in the RNC at all. John Boehner is a certified prevaricator. Darrell Issa is the Anti-Reagan. Mit Romney is a blathering idiot and most clueless. Just look for yourself. Jug heads all of them.

Who are these freaking men working against America?

How many times does it need to be said, George W Bush started this phony Mexican gun smuggling trick. It was he,GWB, who set up the guns smuggling to the drug cartel mobs which back fired on them. Killing a US border patrol agent as a result.

Eric Holder had nothing to do with it and it is proven beyond a doubt. The Darrell Issa circus is just another feeble attempt to discredit and embarrass the President. It is oh so clear. Now this circus has turned into an ugly freak show. The freaks? Darrell Issa, John Boehner, and Senator Chuck Grassley. All freaking freaks. Ugly demented men whose only intent is to thwart the Obama Administration. I personally feel they are all racists. Just drooling jackals on steroids.

To qualify for president all you need is all the world's money.

It’s oh so obvious what Mit Romney wants. However, it is mystifying to know how many people believe his shallow, meaningless rhetoric. People not taking the time to examine his vacuous proposals. Empty words tossed out as if this is all he needs to do. “This is it. Believe me or the world will go to hell if you don’t. I’m right. Obama is wrong and bad for us all.”

Oh? Please explained Mr. Romney. Well, no explanation is offered. I “I have all the money so I must be right. Right?”

What has the House been smoking?

One could only shake a head in complete bafflement, when considering Congress. What congress does or doesn’t do. More like what congress ignores and fails to do. None the less, they act as if they are the creators and takers away of life. Performing in public as if a huge body of Roman Caesars often giving the thumbs down on many proposals that would benefit Americans. Completely ignoring the will of the American public.

Never the less, all of them wrapped in a colorful bunting of self-righteousness. Shouting platitudes and empty slogans. “Jobs-jobs-jobs. Obama is bad for our country. We will never pass any of his legislation.”

Never mind what America wants. Jobs, health care, clean environment, quality education, roads, public transportation, high speed rail, etc. And a safe secure place to live.

In the mean time congress is moralizing in a mirror and smoke filled room of partisan alchemy. The wizards of Ego. All naked and exposed. Wearing the Emperor’s clothes. Charlatans all of them. Spineless political groupies. Never seen alone but huddled in dark rooms of secrets and conspiracy. All acting on behalf of billionaire sugar daddies. Bought and paid for.

It’s absolutely absurd to hear stories about Roger Clemons accused of lying before congress. Especially when congress lies to America every day.

Likewise, to think Attorney General Eric Holder might be held in contempt of Congress. Congress has be in contempt of America for decades. Every day. Twenty-four/seven. Day in. Day out. Blather ring, bloviating, road blocking, and killing good legislation. All should be charged with murder in the First Degree. Charged for murdering good bills and regulations. Hypocrites all of them. Take’em Danno. Take’em to the slammer!

We've only just begun to live.

My Commencement address.

Graduates of the class of 2012, forget what you learned these past four years. Instead you should start reading about what you normally have little interest in. Read the newspaper. Read books other than text books. Read biographies, autobiographies, counter culture magazines, or anything that might challenge your values and beliefs. Know what others are thinking. Know what others are saying or writing.

If your degree centers around computing and mathematic then, find a biography of Walt Disney or Charles Shultz. If your degree is in medicine then, read how the Cuban revolution came about. If you were a history or English major then, read about professional sports or ballet. If you are received your degree in engineering or architecture then, you might want to study creative writing or studying the classic philosophers.

Do or read anything outside your comfort zone. Start keeping and writing in a daily diary. Express yourself in writing. Study new words. Study word and thought found away from your major or study discipline.

Again, know what others are thinking and saying. Try to understand what others are reading. Help them to understand your way of thinking. Round yourself out. Be confident in talking with others who disagree with you. Help others understand who or what you are. Communicate. Share yourself. Try to encourage others to explain themselves as well.

Join Toastmasters. Join discussion groups. Exchange ideas. Write. Express. And understand who you are. What do you believe? What is your philosophy of life. Give, take, and understand the world you live in.

Then my friends, you will have a greater chance for success. Doors will open. Opportunity will be there in front of you. All because you have an understanding of who you are and what the world is all about.

Life is more than a spread sheet. Life is more than internal medicine. Life is more than structural stress calculations. Life is more than conjugating a verb.

Life is bigger than all of us combined. So prepare yourself for a lifelong learning and reading process. Your learning has just begun. Read, write, and ask questions. Go get’em boys and girls.

Romney, the corporate mistress.

The only way I can describe Mit Romney is, he is a political prostitute. A “Call Boy. Beholding to special wanting interests paid for by large sums of unexplained cash. Romney promising to perform his political tricks for the exchange of hush money from mysterious corporate sources. Oh yes, his Pimp? Who else but the RNC.

Working with Romney is a stable of painted concubines. Republicans in the House of congress represent the largest whore house in America. Congressmen and women bound to perform their immoral acts funded by large unaccounted wads of lobby money. Just capitol hill street walkers. Bound to and beholding to the corporate sugar daddies.

Romney and Congress’s motto? “Come up and see me sometime Bubba.”

Monday, June 18, 2012

No plans for your future.

As far as I can tell, all Romney wants to do as president, is undo and dismantle the former works of the Obama administration. Especially the so called Obamacare. But replace it with what? Basically with nothing.

Romney want to undo Obamacare and offer nothing in return. Just dead air. Possibly with toxic air.

He and the Republicans have no plan or suggestion for how to lower health care costs. Just do without. Good luck. Sell your house or whatever. Pay your own way. In the meantime only the fit and strong will survive. If you get sick, too bad. Romney is just not interested in your physical troubles. Just go dig a hole and lay in it.

Friday, June 15, 2012

He doesn't know his America from a hole in the ground.

Clueless is a one word description of someone who is completely unaware. But when someone willfully ignores the truth or pretends the truth does not exists, you have a clueless person. However, I feel the term, clueless, is a harsh and demeaning label for anybody. But there are a few exceptions to this rule.

Mit Romney is that exception. I would, along with millions of others, would easily label Romney as clueless. First of all, he has obviously been sheltered away from the harsh realities of working for a living. Romney growing up was protected, by his privileged class upbringing, from day to day struggles. Struggles many middle class Americans face on a regular basis. Americans facing a cost of living budget. Struggles deciding on food or dental work. Struggles to make enough money to fill up a tank of gasoline. Americans living on the margin. Living day to day. Hand to mouth. Struggling to remain in their homes and avoiding homelessness.

Here’s a test. Ask Mit Romney what it costs for one loaf of bread. Ask him how much it costs to repair or replace a car transmission. Ask Mit Romney how much text books cost for one semester of college classes. Ask Mit what the hourly wage is for a worker at Target or Sam’s Club. My guess, he wouldn’t know.

Clueless, clueless, clueless. It’s the only description that aptly fits Mit Romney. He knows not middle America’s struggles and what it takes to just get by. Out of touch, unaware, ignorant, and most of all, clueless. That’s Mit Romney.

How can Mit Romney run our great country when he has no idea what difficulties Americans face every day. He has no identity with middle America. Middle America has no identity with him. Romney is the wrong man for the job. He is most clueless and simply out of touch with America.

It's the guy. Not the party.

It use to be, the rule of thumb when voting, vote the candidate not the party.
So if you want a candidate who caters to the very rich and also wants to get rid of taxes for the rich, you know who to vote for. Never mind if the middle income families continue to pay taxes. If you want to expand the war in Afghanistan, you know who to vote for. If you want Medicare cancelled and Social Security put into a high risk investment account, you know who to vote for. If you want no regulations for mortgage lenders, you certainly know who to vote for. If you want to put women’s health issues on the back burner, for sure you know who to vote for.

However, if you want a candidate who wants health care cost to go down, you know who to vote for. If you want a candidate who is concerned about the environment and wants clean water and air, you know who to vote for. If you want a candidate encouraging clean and renewable energy, you know who to vote for. If you want to continue early childhood education, nutrition, and health care, you know who you can count on. If you want roads and bridges repaired and built, you know who to vote for. If you want low cost mass transit, you know who to vote for. If you want more teachers, firemen, and police officers, you know who to vote for.

Wisdom says, vote the person not the politics.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

I vote for Mit because I like him. Really.

So, tell me. What do you like about Mit Romney and why would you vote for him? Uh huh. He’s a lifelong Republican? Oh. Just like yourself? Is that all? Oh, he’s a conservative with a good education? Anything else you would like to add here? Uh hum. Oh? You think his wife is smart and speaks well of Mit? Yes, she certainly is smart. Good point.

Well, since we are on a roll here, what else attracts you to Mit’s candidacy? His economic policies? Or perhaps you agree with his social policies? Well then, you must like his position on health care. Right? Not really sure? You know, former Governor Romney passed and signed the Massachusetts Affordable Health care Act. Remember? Oh no! Well, I wouldn’t call it socialized medicine. After all it involves many private health care providers. It would be more privatized than socialized. Do you see my point?

Anything else? Why yes. Yes, he is rich. Why do you bring that up? You think what? Oh. You think he will make everybody else rich if we all vote for him? I’m afraid I don’t follow you on that point. Are you rich? No?

His business experience? His business experience will enable all Americans to be rich? Hmm. In what way? He will teach us what? Oh. How to be Private Equity capitalist? Oh really? And he said what? He will liquidate Social Security and dissolve Medicare and use the money for What? Use it for off-shore ventures? Now, really? You honestly believe that?

Anything else you wish to mention about Mit Romney. Oh! He’s has the wise council left over from the George W Bush administration? Really? Cheney? Carl Rove? Donald Rumsfeld? All those guys?

Holy moly! Her comes another horrific recession. Maybe more like a full blown depression. Everybody! Hide your gold right away.

The shameless House of Representatives is doing it again. No, no, and no.

What’s the matter with Congress? Why do they vote against American’s best interests? Do they not remember their own campaign slogan? Jobs-jobs-jobs. Instead it’s just ..bs-bs-bs.

The House of Representatives has refused to vote on the Republican Senator Jim Inhofe sponsored Transportation Bill. A bill co-sponsered by Sen. Barbara Boxer and passed the Senate by 74-votes. Well beyond a filibuster. A huge Senate majority wanting this bill to be passed.

And the truth of the matter is, the House wants nothing, Natta, zero, zip that to do with making Obama look good. Especially if the bill passed, the states got funding, and unemployment numbers went down. No sir! Don’t want that freaking Obama to look good. Never mind how many tens of thousands of Americans would go back to work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this might mean your US Rep in your district could be one of those Reps holding up progress. Progress that would employ hundreds of thousands of out of work Americans across America.

Call your congressman or woman today. Tell him or her to quickly vote for this Inhofe-Boxer transportation bill right away. Do your part and God bless America.

Traffic rules are on a two-way street.

Interesting story in today’s USA Today. Drivers resist the idea of using Arial drones to track and target speeders. Then issue speeding tickets. “It’s just unfair,” many might say. People don’t like to be caught at what they don’t want to be caught at. Even if they are doing what they should not be doing. “Who me? How did you know that?”

The same thing exists with “Red Light” cameras. Even though it is posted on most traffic signals, people want to ignore such postings and do what they know they shouldn’t be doing. “It’s just freaking unfair.”

The same thing exists in almost every aspect of life where rules and regulations are put in place. “it’s okay but don’t make it so easy for the authorities to catch us.” Most people want rules and regs but don’t want technology to catch them so readily. Zip! Pop! Here’s your fine. Pay it now. Traffic violators want traffic control to be slow and lethargic. Something like Charlie Chan. “Catch if you can!”

It would be safe to say, if you put a traffic cop at every corner, that too would be balked at. “Just aint fair.!” Even though we place rules with the general consent of the public, the public doesn’t really want to be caught at their own rules. Saying it was never that way before technology came into play.

For years the general population as well as law makers in California protested and resisted the use of Radar to clock highway speeders. California was one of the last states to use “Radar Guns” in highway patrol cruisers. And this would have been several decades after other states had been using Radar guns. “CHP is gonna get you now Bubba!”

None the less, it is funny in a human way, we all believe rules can be in our best interest. However, when it comes time we are the breakers of the law, we want leniency and pardon. When others break the same rules, we want strict and harsh compliance to the law. “Book’em Dan-O!”

So, which way do we want it? We certainly can’t have it both ways. Rules are made for our safety and protection. Just pretend there are cameras everywhere. Yes, someone just might be watching you all the time. God forgive us for we know not what we do. Or, do we? “God, please stop watching!”

Voting against the grain

If the truth be known many politicians would NOT be in congress. However the sad story is the truth is known but ignored by many voters. Therefore congressmen and women are still in congress regardless. Regardless of voters knowing the truth but voting ideology and for campaign slogans instead of facts. Disregarding the real truth but willing to choose to support the party-line instead of social and economic reality. How do you put that on a bumper sticker?

“Truth + politics = misrepresentation” Or, “You get what you pay for.”
Or, how about a yard sign? “I voted for the guy. Now how do I get rid of him.” Or, “ Had I only listened.”

If you don't see any posts here, buy a N Y Times instead.

Dear readers of this stuff,
I will be away for a few days and hopefully will post from time to time as I travel along. And I know there are at least three of you who will miss the postings. Well, make that two of you. But, I will try my best to make post wherever or whenever I am and can. Well, maybe there is only one reader. I’ll let you know all about all the truck stops I visit. Maybe describing the road kill I see. Anyway, I’ll try my darndest to post. Happy reading. Chuck Ayers.

To get anything done, we must first take sides. Them and us.

So Scott Walker says after his victory in Wisconsin, “Our side should listen to their side.” Our side must listen to their side?” Does Wisconsin have two sides? Them and us? The Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s?

When do we stop the partisan divide? When do we start living in the same house? Living with the same problems needing resolution and solution.

Perhaps Wisconsin state government should start looking at issues Wisconsinites want attention paid to. Wisconsin issues which really matter to the Cheese head state. But as it is, the two opposing parties only want to press for partisan issues and not issues the general population of Wisconsin needs and wants. How futile and unproductive.

Come on guys and gals of the Wisconsin state government, get your acts together. Learn to compromise and cooperate together. Give and take. I’m sure it will work.

You can set an example for the other 49-states. Be brave. Suck it in and share and share alike in the difficulty. And, share in the pride and progress. Go Badgers! Get’em Packers!

After the Supreme Court decision, then what?

Sad to say, there is a reasonable chance the Obama Affordable Health Care Act could be struck down this month by the Supreme Court. Thus reversing parts of the Act that American citizens are already benefiting from. Only to verify that the current Supreme Court leans heavily to the right. Bias and partisan in its approach to Constitutional law.

Be that it may, millions of Americans still need affordable health care. Striking down a congressional act does not correct the problem. It still exists and most Americans are in serious need of good affordable health care.

However, the republicans have no alternative plan. Not even a desire to create good health care. Let alone affordable health care. So where do we go from here? The need still is real and American citizens are still demanding good health care. No matter how basic.

Just ask any Republican Representative or Senator about proposed health care plans and you will generally receive a blank stare. No idea on how to resolve this issue. Mostly because they don’t want to face this issue. Republicans wish it would go away. But it won’t . People are hurting and suffering because of no or little health care for their families. Especially for children.

America deserves better. Ask your congressman or woman what they plan to do when “Obamacare” is reversed and struck down. What do Republicans plan to offer as an alternative plan to Obamacare. Will it really be affordable? Does it cover early childhood care? Will it cover teens and young adults? How do Republicans really plan to reduce health care costs? Tell us Mr. and Ms. Congressperson. How? When? How will it be paid for? Who will have to participate? Tell us now!

An equal opportunity voter.

I would like to go back to the good old days of voting for the candidate and not the party. I use to do that you know. It worked better that way for me.

So, below is a list of issues I would prefer a candidate to get behind and make happen.

More jobs provided by building roads, bridges, and railroads.
Affordable health care for all.
More scholarships to public colleges.
More fire fighters and police officers.
More public school teachers.
Smaller classrooms in public school.
Develop more renewable energy sources.
Import less petroleum products.
Limit pollution from coal fired generators.
More health clinics for the working poor.

Now, if you are a local, state, or congressional candidate and would be willing to put your career on the line for at least seven of the ten issues posted above, I will certainly vote for you. Whether you are Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Capitalist, Environmentalist, Rotatarian, Hindu, Baptist, OB, or GYN. I will vote for you. You can bet on it.

What you see is what you've seen before.

Now stay with me on this. I am trying to develop a rational thesis. First I must ask some questions.

What was it that you liked about the George W Bush administration? His policies on wars? His policies on reducing taxes for the wealthy? His search for Osama Bin Laden? His penal colony on Cuba? His Iraqi distraction? His handling of failing banks? His ignoring Lehman Brothers? His inattention to environmental issues? His unfunded education bill? The unpaid price of two costly wars? His attempt to privatize your Social Security? His disdain of your Medicare? His unfunded and costly Pharmaceutical bill? His allowing the collapse of the housing market and bankrupt mortgage lenders? Or, what else would you suggest to add here?

Now, if you like what has been listed above, you will get a second chance to duplicate the same. Same party, same policies, the same Bush advisors, and the same results. If you liked the economy George W Bush left us, then Mit Romney is your man. If you like the huge deficit GWB left, then Romney is your guy. If you want some of the same anti-poor and anti-working class social policies, vote for Romney. If you like global warming and a deteriorating environment like George W Bush left, Mit W Romney is the man to vote into the Whitehouse.

If you are part of the working poor, uninsured with no health care, unemployed and recently laid off educator, former fire fighter or police officer, over worked health care worker, lost your job to offshore foreign workers, lost your home to bankruptcy or for closer, can’t afford prescribed medication, just being a single mom, a Latino, being African-American, native American, or any other condition out of your control, you have lots to lose. Lots to lose if you vote Romney. And nothing to gain if you vote for Mit Romney. I hope this is not a surprise to you. But it’s true. God Bless America. I know we can do better. Think about it.

Congress is the big 'speed bump' in the road.

All America wants to do is work at a reasonable job, own a home, educate it’s children, maintain good health, and help others. However, standing in the way of America’s beneficent is a recalcitrant congress. A dysfunctional Congress bought and paid for by ill intended corporate lobbyist with deep pockets filled with reelection money.

And we are talking about Corporations ably aided by congress purposefully filtering all available money away from middle America. Money diverted into private corporation bank accounts. Then generously distributed to all participating congressmen and women. A reward for congress changing laws that unfairly advantage the rich and take away from the working class and poor.

All the while congress is blaming the federal government for wisely taxing the rich and distributing benefit to preschool children, to the elderly, the disabled, and working class poor. Certainly a Biblical concept. RememberWWJD?

So why do we Americans allow this? Why do we keep on reelecting the same old congress whose only interest is to enable the rich and oppress the poor? Why do grass root Americans vote against their own interests? Often voting for a nebulous mysterious ideology and not voting for an American belief. Beliefs as in “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

America! Wake up! Smell the coffee and go do your job. Your job is to know your district congressman or woman. Let them know you are not interested in subsidizing the rich but advantaging the middle class. Helping the middle class take care of its poor, homeless, sick, and cleaning up the environment. Congress! Get out of the way!
