Power to the people. And to the manufacturers as well.

Before manufacturers send jobs over to India and China, the companies should check out the power grid. What is the reliability of electricity. Will the power grid work today? Will it work two weeks from now? Will our business have water and power to manufacture our electronic widgets?

Not only that but, will there be enough electricity to power the homes, appliances, traffic control lights, road lighting, phones, trains, airports, seaports, and all the necessary infrastructure needed to run a city of millions? Is India’s power infrastructure dependable? Is it technologically up to date? Can it bare the load placed on it on a daily basis?

Obviously not. It failed yesterday. Failing in a big time way. Over 370-million customers were without electricity. An amount equal t the population of the US and Canada. Shutting down thousands of businesses. Bringing to a halt progress. Showing that India and possibly China has its limits.

All of this ignoring the fact that here in America, we have a more reliable system. A system with some miner weak spots but mostly reliable none the less.

So why risk send manufacturing and its jobs far far away to a system questionable at best.

Electricity. Power made in America. Depend on it. Appreciate it. The United States needs to stop giving huge tax breaks to companies sending jobs to India and China. It’s anti-American. Its investors are anti-American.

Where is the patriotism? Where is the American loyalty? Where is the American spirit of “Can Do?” Let’s just stay here in our neighborhood and get things done. God bless America. India will take care of itself. China couldn’t give a flip.

Global warming may or may not be a hoax. Who really cares.

Let’s Set aside the controversial argument of global warming for the moment. Never the less, wouldn’t it still be better for all inhabitants on Earth to reduce carbon dioxide from the air? Isn’t there still harmful heavy metal properties in CO2 that cause many harmful respiratory conditions? Yes, indeed.

For sure CO2 is bad. Bad for people and their environment. Causing lung cancer, asthma, heart disease, emphysema, and a number of other carcinogenic causing disorders from mercury poisoning.

And this is not to mention harmful and killing effects on plants and animals. Animals that fly. Animals that live in oceans, lakes, and rivers. Most of all plants and animals we humans eat.

Again, forget the global warming effects. Let’s just reduce the carbon dioxide that is released in the air by cars, trucks, planes, trains, and coal fired power plants. Never mind “Cap and Trade.” Just use less carbon fuels. Walk instead of driving to the grocery store. Share rides to work or take a bus. Ride your bike to school. Turn off all the lights in the house or place of business that are not needed. Open the windows instead of turning on the air conditioning. Conserve. Save electricity. Use alternative forms of electrical power. Wind. Solar. Just get CO2 out of the air. Never Global warming. Pretend it doesn’t exist. Just believe carbon dioxide kills. CO2 is real as death.

So, when we get rid of all public school teachers, then what?

It really doesn’t take a University doctorial candidate to understand that Republicans want to get rid of public education. And not only K through twelve but community college level and beyond. They hate teachers and their unions. Unions are often a voting block against unscrupulous Republican policies. But, not always. None the less, Republicans certain hate taxes that goes to public education. So, why not block teachers and their pesky unions?

But anyway, too many kids with high school degrees or above are out on the streets as a result of too much public education. Too many educated kids must certainly create road blocks for Republican legislation and/or Republican public policies.

Educated people often want to block policies like requiring photo ID for older or minority voters. It doesn’t take a genius to know what is going on here. Plus Republican are forever creating policies to shut down public worker unions. America, by the way, was mostly built on public worker unions. Smart voters want to stop Republican Policies. Policies cutting back on police workers, fire fighters, teachers, librarians, public health workers, and the list is endless.

Most of all, Republicans do not want to pay taxes. All the while wanting the middle class to pay for roads, bridges, and any public works projects. “You can’t tax the banking and financial class.” They say they are the job makers. Oh really? Where’s the jobs?

In the mean time it is up to the working class to see this Republican smoke and mirror trick. Tell your congressman no more tax cuts for the rich. Trickle down has never worked. Tax cuts for the rich has yielded very few jobs. “Jobs jobs jobs” is just Republican campaign bloviation and empty promises. Any congressman supporting more tax cuts for the rich are bought and paid for by the high rolling deep pocketed corporate lobbyist. This kind of congressman is not the friend of the poor or the working class. He or she is just a monkey on a string collecting your hard earned cash for the very wealthy and privileged.

Tell your congress guy or gal to increase money for education and public safety workers. Tell them this or you will vote for someone who will support education and your local police and fire department. In the mean time stop listening to radio and TV ads with hate filled ugly talk against honest
people-oriented congressional candidates. Candidates wanting to help the middle class. Vote smart. Know your congressional candidate.

The big time waster.

I’m tired of keeping up a lawn. Mowing, trimming, weeding, and bla bla bla. It’s time to re-think the whole concept of lawns. Re-thinking the expense of upkeep, equipment, and most of all the water needed to sustain a lawn.

Water is becoming more expensive. Water is becoming more scarce. Global warming or not. The fact remains, water is going away fast. And lawns consume millions of gallons each summer.

We should be looking at lawn alternatives. Let’s get creative and include water conservation in our home landscape repertoire. More wood decking or some decorative rock, sand, or pebblized concrete.

The so-called lawn in front of our house is just a collecting field of acorns and prickly sweet gumballs. An endless semiannual laborious raking and bagging exercise. An effort producing very little result. We re-seed it year after year gaining nothing in return. In the meantime wasting thousands of gallons of precious water and all for naught. Water which could be used for drinking or agriculture.

But anyway, some enterprising landscaper should develop the waterless front and back yard. I would almost be happy with a nice spread of flat concrete so I could easily hose off the front yard tree droppings into the gutter. Making it easy to broom and shovel up into a lovely 96-gallon trash dumpster. I know my wife would love it, maybe.

This might be a good reason to write down what you had said.

I am just totally surprised. Surprised a so-called religious man allows himself to prevaricate in the name of truth and justice. Lying is what they call it. Covering up misdeeds. Twisting lie in to make believe truth. Actually untruth.

And in this case lying regardless of what he had represented before. Speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Telling one group one thing and telling another, the opposite. A proverbial Deckle and Hyde. Just saying what is convenient at the time. Almost forgetting what he had said previous. “I’m not sure what I said but I mean what I had said. So I stick with I didn’t remember I said before. Whatever I said.” Thus had said Mit Romney. And not too long ago.

Proving one thing he is not a very good liar. Mainly because he doesn’t remember what he had said. Breaking the liars first rule of thumb. “If you’re going to lie, you must remember what you said before on the same subject. Indicating Romney is a very stupid man.

The difference between Romney and George W Bush is, Bush remember what he lied about before. At least turning a previous lie into a hokey Texas joke. Remember?

Never the less, I just cannot believe this man, Romney, is allowed to speak in public. Conveniently forgetting the past and just yammering on and on just for the convenience of the present. Indicating a pathological and persisting urge to misrepresent his past. Only to reinvent himself for the moment. Almost indicating he is suffering either from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

I really think he is a sick man. Needing serious therapy and possible hospitalization. Where are the men in white coats with the big butterfly net. Gettem boys! W-o-o-o-o-o-osh!

The only valid question is, why?

If you were to ask me, what the Colorado mass murder James Holmes did was just a symptom of a larger condition he is experiencing. There is cause. And there is effect. The cause of this horrific act is where the authorities, psychologists, and investigators should be looking.

They should be looking at what was he watching on TV. What video games was he playing? What Books, magazines, movies, and music was he exposed to? Was he listening to extremist talk radio? How about Right wing cable TV? Possibly even reading Left wing internet media?

He is 24 and still a bit impressionable. Something outside of him caused. We should find out before he is tried and executed.

The same goes for Jared Lee Loughner and George Zimmerman. All seemingly driven by some greater demonic influence. Hating, distrusting, lacking in conscience, no self worth, possibly bullied and reviled by peers, and on and on. Who knows what.

As much as I dislike guns, guns is not the issue here. Finding out why is. James could have done the same thing with knives, bows, and arrows. But not to the degree as semi automatic weapons and body armor. Just the death tools of choice.

So, why? Why did this happen? What is in James Holmes head. There lies the answer. Your job is to find out why and stop this from happening again and again.

Keep your guns. Keep your ammo. Keep your cool.

As I had written before, the NRA has misrepresented President Obama’s position on guns. Go to factcheck.org and read the truth. Obama wants you to keep your guns. The NRA says he wants to take them away. Not so.

However, President Obama and millions of others have issues with purchasing and owning multiple large caliber assault rifles. Especially if you buy thousands of rounds of ammo and sell it to drug cartels south of the border. And again, millions of American citizens have issue with this kind of gun purchasing.

But if the NRA said Obama wants regulation and limitation on purchasing dozens of AK-47s and thousands of rounds of ammo, most people would have no complaint about that. But what the NRA has promoted is just Obama wants your guns period. Which is most misleading. A broad and vague statement. Leaving the reader or viewer of such adds a bit worried. Possibly worried Obama wants ALL your guns that you own. Giving dries to the proliferation of T-shirts and bumper stickers that say, “Obama wants your guns.” But to rile the troops the NRA wants everybody to think all guns should be taken back. Leaving the gun owner without his or her hand gun or hunting rifle. And let me repeat. This is not true. Keep your hand guns and hunting rifle. Keep your bows and arrows. Keep your hunting knives. Keep your scopes. Keep your night visions goggles. Keep it all. The NRA is lying. Misleading. Misrepresenting what Obama has said or believes in.

Why is Congress trying to take away my insurance? By Emily Schlichting When I was 17, I started experiencing a lot of seemingly unrelated symptoms. None of my doctors could figure out what was causing them. Finally, after two years of undergoing MRIs and CAT scans, visiting specialists and a week-long stay in a hospital my freshman year of college, I was diagnosed with Behcet's Disease, a very rare auto-immune condition. This was a lot to deal with at 19. But I was one of the lucky ones. My parents have good health insurance, and thanks to that coverage, I received the care I needed. I didn't have to worry about where my care was coming from while trying to cope with a disease that was quickly changing my life. As my doctors got my symptoms under control, I was able to start planning for my future. But I soon realized that even though I had great health insurance coverage through my parents, I might not always have access to the care that I need. When you are chronically ill like me, good health insurance is the difference between living life with a disease or your disease leading your life. Political gamesmanship When House Republicans recently voted to take away my health care, I got angry. In fact, this was the 33rd time Republicans had voted to repeal or defund the Affordable Care Act. Fortunately, the Senate has no plans to go along with the House. Even so, I used to think that if I could just talk with those lawmakers opposed to the law, I could tell my story and make them understand what the Affordable Care Act means for me. And then Republicans would move on. But people are so mired in the political game that my personal story -- and those of millions like me -- don't get told. That needs to change. With health insurance coverage tied to the job, career opportunities can become limited. I had planned to work at a non-profit for a couple of years before I went back to school. But that was no longer an option because I would have dropped off my parents' insurance plan. And it hit me. For the rest of my life, I would have to be careful not to ever drop off an insurance plan. If I did, an insurance company would classify my disease as a pre-existing condition and could deny me coverage. Unnecessary worry No one should have to live with that sort of uncertainty and fear. No one should have her career options limited because she can't afford to risk being without heath insurance. Because ObamaCare provided me the option to stay on my parent's insurance until I was 26 -- as it has for 3.1 million other young people -- it gave me the time and flexibility to choose a career path I love rather than one that offers me insurance. You cannot overstate the importance of such freedom. Although I might have a unique disease, I am not alone. There are millions like me who are struggling with a pre-existing condition, or who are right out of college and trying to find a good job -- or both. Some might think that because I'm only 22, I'm young or naive. And I understand that fighting, and refighting battles, is what politics is all about. Nevertheless, I refuse to believe that fighting to take away people's health care is the best we can do as a country. I will continue to tell my story until every member of Congress understands that health care isn't about politics. It's about people's lives. It's about MY life. It is hard for me as it might be for many others, to determine what Mit Romney’s proposed economic policies are. All his policies seem vague. Mostly because he is always prattling on and on about President Obama. Instead of promoting good economic policies of his own. Which there ain’t. And since he has no positive plan to offer the American people, he instead tosses out a smoke screen of rhetoric. Mostly bloviating on how President Obama is “not American” and Obama being a “foreigner.” Which is code talk for “he’s not like us.” If you know what I mean. More like he’s not White like us.

So the bluster goes on. Romney says he is right for America and President Obama is not. Empty statements with no valid or meaningful back-up. Hmm? What does that mean? His generalities and hollow statements say nothing. Empty words. Just bash and kick Obama. All he knows is bash and blame. If you can’t beat them, lie a lot.

In the mean time he seems to alienate just about every segment in our American society. He appears before the NAACP and never really speaks to them. Looking over their heads and straight at the TV cameras. Just to show the liberal media he’s attempting to appeal to all. Yeah, right.

And it doesn’t end there. He does the same with Latinos. And to other minorities, women and on and on. Speaking only to the cameras and reporters.

However, I can only guess by what he has previously said and what he has written, he hates the common worker. He for sure hates public workers. Public worker unions to be specific. Almost any worker who requires a living wage is on his enemies list. Policemen, firemen, teachers, librarians, health clinic workers and on and on. Romney does not like you. I’m sure of that. If he could he would send all federal, state and municipal workers to China.

How do I know this? This is evident by how he ran his so-called former business. Bain Capital. Which I think he still has a major interest in. None the less, he has sent and still is sending jobs overseas. Outsourcing to China and India. It’s true. It’s all there in the business pages. He must really hate American middle class workers because they require a reasonable living wage. Again, bringing proof that he will do the same as President.

However, he won’t be given the chance. He’s dead meat in the presidential race. Even Republicans dislike his vagary and flipity-flopityness. Forever changing his mind. He’s Mr. Waffle. Just a walking talking bait and switch game. Senor Wishie Washie. “Get out of my way or I’ll change my mind again.”

American cannot afford a Bozo like Romney. His true intent is to end the American lifestyle as we know it. Truth, justice, and the American way would come to an end under a Romney administration. It would more like changing to a Plantation society. We all will be picking cotton and singing the blues. Is this what we want?

I don't mind paying a bit more for comfortable American made clothes. Even from a re-sail shop.

In my closet I have several short sleeve polo shirts. Most of which fits like potato sacks. Heavy, formless, and with scratching irritating nylon labels sown in at the waist.

All purchased from some big box store. Some of which cost only less than ten bucks. What a deal. It would be a deal if I had skin like an armadillo and a body shape like a water heater. Unfortunately I have sensitive skin and am shaped like a Granny Smith Apple. Well, almost. But, that’s without the stem and barcode label.

None the less, the point here to make is the clothes we buy these is pure crap. Worthless China made stuff. Synthetic, one size fits all, and with irritating labels sewn in the wrong places. I’d rather ware body armor with staples sticking me in the waist. It’s that bad or worse.

Tell me, what is wrong with American made clothes made of cotton. Soft, pliable and comfortable to wear. May cost a bit more but it would be worth it. Buy American and buy Cotton.

Bring back the textile factories. Bring back good American jobs. Tell the venture capitalists to stuff it.
